Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 135 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for reasons and an opinion on whether the trend is positive or negative, the response is underdeveloped and lacks sufficient supporting detail or examples. The ideas presented, such as cost and warranty, are mentioned but not expanded upon, leading to a fragmented argument. The position is stated briefly in the introduction but is not sustained or explored in depth throughout the essay. To improve, you must expand each point with clear explanations and relevant examples to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there are attempts at paragraphing, the structure is disjointed and the transitions between ideas are mechanical or missing. For example, the use of 'firstly' and 'moreover' is present, but the sentences within these paragraphs do not flow logically. The lack of cohesive devices makes it difficult to follow the argument. The conclusion is also very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or restate the position clearly. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to communicate complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'concious' instead of 'conscious', 'peps' for 'people', and 'opprat' for 'operate'. The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'high in rate' or 'less warranty'. To achieve a higher band score, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and more precise terms related to the topic of economics and consumer behavior. Focusing on accurate spelling and standard English phrasing is essential for clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For instance, 'Some Consumers are increasingly to buy' is grammatically incorrect, and 'its is positive impact' lacks proper structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with excessive use of ellipses and incorrect comma placement. The frequent errors often impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and sentence boundaries, before attempting more complex structures.
