Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, every country is promoting the purchase of goods from its own country's manufacturing rather than imported goods. It helps the development of a country's economy. Here, I have discussed some reasons and positive effects of this trend.
To begin with, Consumers are aware that imported products are cheaper sometimes, but not always better. The best example of this is hair and skin care companies. These companies always test their consumers based on their geographic location, and based on their environment and habits, they introduce products at an appropriate price. So, the maximum number of people can benefit from their products. For that, local products are the best option, which are manufactured in their own country, and they know the skin and hair type of the people and the affordability of the product.
On the other hand, Imported goods are affect negatively on economy. For example, people are shopping too much from various online platform which accessible worldwide. Also, it provides cheaper alternatives to products. I believe it is a negative trend in shopping. If people buy imported goods too much rather than local goods. It will result in unemployment. Because there will be no longer a need for labor in manufacturing companies. The demand will be low, so they will produce less, which affects the labor market.
In conclusion, shopping from local markets or local vendors are good to the development of country and the government and schools should encourage more people to buy locally manufactured products. They should follow the slogan "shop from locals".

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive or negative trend. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The explanation regarding skin care products is a bit confusing and does not clearly link to the broader concept of 'local goods' in a convincing way. The second body paragraph provides a clearer argument regarding the economic impact and unemployment, which strengthens the response. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that your examples are more universally applicable and clearly connected to the prompt's core themes of economic sustainability and consumer choice.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'For that, local products are the best option'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for instance, the connection between the skin care example and the general topic of local manufacturing could be more explicitly stated. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'manufacturing', 'affordability', and 'unemployment'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'Imported goods are affect negatively on economy', which should be 'negatively affect the economy'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range to include more academic or formal vocabulary would help you move into the higher band descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'every country is promoting the purchase of goods from its own country's manufacturing' (awkward phrasing), 'Imported goods are affect negatively' (incorrect verb form), and 'shopping from local markets... are good' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments like 'Because there will be no longer a need for labor in manufacturing companies.' Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures will significantly improve your accuracy.
