Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 121 words. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to address all parts of the prompt. The introduction mentions the intention to discuss reasons and the nature of the trend, but the body paragraphs are not developed, and the conclusion is entirely missing. Consequently, the response is only a partial attempt at the task. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two distinct body paragraphs with clear supporting examples, and a concluding summary to meet the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'To elobrate it more' and 'Hence', the progression of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a complete argument makes it difficult to assess the logical flow. To achieve a higher band, you need to ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked logically throughout the entire essay, leading to a coherent conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'prominement' (prominent), 'elobrate' (elaborate), and 'motivate' (motivated). The phrasing 'Depending people on local things' is unnatural and hinders clarity. To improve, focus on using more precise vocabulary related to economics and consumer behavior. For example, instead of 'things', use 'commodities', 'produce', or 'goods'. Expanding your range of collocations and ensuring accurate spelling will significantly improve your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'It is common see' (It is common to see), 'import from other nation' (imported from other nations), and 'they feel motivate' (they feel motivated). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms (e.g., passive voice for 'are imported'), and the use of articles. Practicing complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, will help demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
