Student answer (Band 5.0)

The question of whether consumers are increasingly choosing to buy goods that are produced in their local area, rather than imported goods is have both a positive and negative development. As per my opinion it has positive development. The main agenda of the impending composition is to elaborate my certitude with befitting examples.

There are major reasons why it is a positive development. As if we start purchasing products locals market it will help to increase the economical growth of our country. While purchase goods from local market the various chance to get discounted price as we directly purchase it from manufacturer. Moreover, it makes our country more independent, As we are not importing goods from other country. So technically we are not depend on of them. If we want an product we simply do a barter system with them. Also the goods we are purchasing I also cheap and affordable a person easily. for example:- A person purchase wheat which produced in India at the price 100 per kilo, same as another purchase the imported wheat for 150 per kilo. They both purchase the same good one get expense just because it is imported. other get because

Additionally, If we having positive trends it is not possible there could not be any negative trend. As if we are not importing goods for another country. It makes our taste very limited as we do not have various options. When we are importing goods from another it cost some extra expense of transport.

To recapitulate, after giving aforementioned viewpoints,it is clear that buying local goods are more cheaper than purchasing imported goods.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the reasons for buying local (economic growth, independence) are mentioned, they are not fully extended or supported with clear logic. The discussion on the negative aspects is particularly weak and lacks depth, appearing somewhat disjointed. The conclusion is abrupt and does not effectively summarize the arguments presented. To improve, you should ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your arguments are fully explained with logical progression rather than just listed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often mechanical and sometimes confusing. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'As if we start purchasing products'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. The paragraphing is present but does not always serve to separate distinct ideas effectively. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'main agenda of the impending composition' and 'it makes our taste very limited'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'economical' instead of 'economic') limit the score. To improve, try to learn topic-specific collocations related to trade and economics and avoid using overly formal or 'dictionary-heavy' phrases that do not fit the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'buying local goods are more cheaper'), article usage, and sentence structure. The attempt at complex sentences often results in fragments or run-on sentences, such as the unfinished example regarding wheat. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb tenses will significantly improve your clarity.
