Student answer (Band 6.0)
More and more people are tend to purchase goods which is made in thier home country than the foreign imported items. Therefore, it creates more demands of local product and government would pay less for importing the foreign exchange. In this essay will discuss the effect caused by this behaviour of consumers.
First of all, a lot of things happened recently between many countries. Among all of them America's tarrief war has become widely known. So a countries who are importing and exporting goods from America, needs to pay extra costs. As a result, many countries have increased production of local goods and speead awareness to their citizen to prioritise the local products. For example, China has trying to reduce it dependancy on other country for importing goods by promoting local company and spreading public awarness to by local items and it has positive impact on country. Thus, China is only 20% dependend on other country.
Secondly, as a local product demand increases, job demands will also increaces which hepls government and their citizens. For example, Germany and Canada's government promotes local bussiness by providing financial support and those bussiness will creates employeer opportunity so economy increases significently. Government can save money from spending on international product.
In conclusion, consumer habit to bying local product has various benefits to their country. However, avoiding foreign product will affect the deplometic relationship with other countries. If strong economic country like Germany can handle deplomatic tension due to sufficient resources but poor economic countries who imports item majorly could have drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention trade wars and job creation, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the reference to China's dependency percentage is vague and lacks context. The position is clear, but the discussion on whether the trend is positive or negative is slightly imbalanced, as the negative aspects are only briefly touched upon in the conclusion. To improve, ensure each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more detailed reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the link between the trade war example and the conclusion in the second paragraph is abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Among all of them America's tarrief war has become widely known', where the antecedent for 'them' is missing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'tarrief', 'speead', 'dependancy', 'bussiness', 'employeer', and 'deplometic'. Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'creates more demands' instead of 'increases demand' and 'strong economic country' instead of 'economically strong country'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'importing', 'exporting', and 'economic', the frequent spelling and collocation errors limit the effectiveness of your communication. Focusing on accurate spelling and learning common collocations related to economics would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people are tend to', 'a countries... needs'), article usage ('the foreign exchange'), and word form errors ('bying' instead of 'buying'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
