Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent year, the global trade markets have been adversely affected by war crisis situation, which has directly impacted pockets of the local households, and forced them to buy products that are made in their own country. While this shift might affect goods exporting countries, I believe it is totally a positive trend for both economy and political situation of the country.
First of all, consumers choosing a locally produced good is crucial for a country as it supports its economy and be self-reliant. Citizens who buy products that are imported from foreign countries have to pay more duties on it. Therefore, paying for local food items or products will boost employment and increase affordability. For instance, when USA imposed sanctions on Canada and increased the tax on certain food items, which made Canadians to buy local groceries, and contributed to the economy.
Furthermore, by choosing country made items instead of exported, will increase the political will of the government. It will encourage officials to install factories, and storage units across the nation to boost manufacturing. Hence, government of the countries won't have to be dependent on other countries to buy the expensive imported items. For example, China manufactures almost all the goods and services that their people need which improved the political situation of the country.
Overall, opting for local goods rather than imported, is a positive trend which encourage government and local of the country to manufacture things. Hence, it might affect countries who are exporting at a larger scale, but help boost the economy and political situation in the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how local production improves the 'political situation' is vague and lacks a logical link to the actual mechanism of governance. The example regarding China is a broad generalization that does not fully support the argument. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, nuanced explanations of how economic self-reliance translates into tangible benefits for citizens beyond just 'affordability'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'Overall' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'by choosing country made items instead of exported, will increase...'. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within the second body paragraph could be tighter to ensure the link between local manufacturing and political stability is more persuasive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'adversely affected', 'self-reliant', and 'sanctions'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'war crisis situation' (should be 'geopolitical crisis'), 'country made items' (should be 'domestically produced goods'), and 'local of the country' (should be 'local industries' or 'citizens'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your argument. Expanding your range of collocations and refining your use of academic terminology will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the economy and political situation of the country'), subject-verb agreement ('government... won't have to be'), and sentence fragments or run-on structures ('For instance, when USA imposed... which made Canadians to buy...'). The misuse of 'to' after 'made' (e.g., 'made Canadians to buy') is a recurring error. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
