Student answer (Band 5.0)
Now day Some consumers are increasingly choosing to buy goods that are produced in their local area, rather than imported goods at some point of it is good to promote local products because this will help local manufacturers to generate revenue and it is positive trend to buy local goods but as well as in other ways it is negative trend too. Will discuss both merits and demerits point in forthcoming paragraphs.
To begin with merits, it is good thing to some consumers increasingly choosing local goods that are produced in their local area. For example they believe in buy local eat local spend local enjoy local. It is good thing they buy local products and saving local manufacturers by this. Choosing local over imported. Second thing local goods is more cheaper then imported. They can save their money by this. Moreover now days living cost momos very high so people again following the old trend to survive in present days and they push their self to buy local goods. It is good for them as well as for local vendors. This practice save the local shopkeepers and vendors from vanish. If people not prefer the local goods they cannot survive and most important local manufacturers know their requirements very well instead of imported. So buying local is highly recommended by people.
On the other point of view it is negative trend also. Imported manufacturers provide the quality to citizens and they mention complete date of each items on their price tags. For instance any one before buying any goods can check the expiry dates on particular product. It is good for all u can buy product accordingly.
In conclusion I would say it is good trend to buy local products rather then imported goods this help the local vendors to survive and we should also prefer this so they can generate good revenue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the reasons why consumers buy local goods and evaluating whether this is a positive or negative trend. A position is stated, albeit simply in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the reasons given for buying local (cheaper, saving local vendors) lack deep extension, and the counter-argument regarding quality and expiry dates on imported goods is underdeveloped. The writer attempts to cover both merits and demerits, but the supporting examples lack specific detail or breadth. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation with attempts at paragraphing, such as introductory and concluding remarks, as well as separating merits and demerits. However, the overall progression is hampered by repetitive phrasing and poor transitional links, such as 'Now day Some consumers' and 'On the other point of view'. Cohesive devices are often inadequate or inaccurate, and referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'they' and 'this'. Paragraphing is visibly weak, with the body paragraphs lacking internal structure and flow. This corresponds to a Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple words like 'good', 'local', and 'products'. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'Imported manufacturers provide the quality' instead of 'importers provide quality goods', and awkward phrasing like 'vendors from vanish'. Uncommon lexical items are sparse and mostly inaccurate or inappropriately collated (e.g., 'living cost momos very high'—likely a typographical or lexical slip). The vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, causing some strain for the reader, which aligns with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to severe grammatical breakdowns and run-on sentences, such as 'Now day Some consumers are increasingly choosing to buy goods that are produced in their local area, rather than imported goods at some point of it is good...' Punctuation is largely neglected, with missing periods and commas creating confusing sentence boundaries. Frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people not prefer', 'each items') cause significant difficulty for the reader, characteristic of a Band 4.5 or 5.0 performance.
