Student answer (Band 5.5)
The significant amount of population are more attracted towards the product that are made locally than the products that brought from foreign countries. In another words, the public is more intrested in the products that is made domestically than the foreign ones.
The reason behind the public is following this trend because there is a belief that have been spreading among the population that the food items from abroad have more preservatives and the chances of causing life threatening diseases is more. Moreover, the goods that are produced domestically which follows the taste that the population is used to and they belive that they are more healthy than the foreign products. This is not only for groceries it affects the sales of other produts like TV, computers.
In my opinion, the trend of purchasing the products made locally is a positive trend. The reason behind that I mentioned it as positive trend. If we talked about the groceries that are imported from foreign countries are usually kept frozen to increase the life span of these products they will add chemicals like sodium it is not good for human health. In another case, It is true that products like TV, computers have more features than the product made locally. For example, mobile phones like Samsung and Apple that made internationally have more specification than the mobile phones made locally.
The products that made locally can get more acceptance from public than the one made from foreign countries is a positive trend. Because of following this trend new bussiness ideas will raise among public and it will have a significant role in development of the nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for buying local goods such as health concerns over preservatives, and presenting a clear position that this is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on health concerns and foreign preservatives is reiterated multiple times without introducing fresh supporting dimensions. The mention of electronic goods like TVs and computers is introduced abruptly in the second paragraph without full integration into the main argument. While the stance is clear throughout, the support tends to over-generalise and lacks specific, well-rounded elaboration, placing the response comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs. However, paragraphing and logical progression are frequently hindered by weak cohesive devices and repetitive phrasing. Phrases like 'The reason behind the public is following this trend' and 'In another words' demonstrate faulty referencing and mechanical cohesion. Additionally, sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt, such as shifting abruptly from groceries to electronics without transitional framing. While the progression of ideas is generally understandable, the clumsy use of cohesive ties and occasional awkward topic transitions prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully conveying general concepts related to local and imported goods. There are, however, frequent word-choice errors and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'intrested' instead of 'interested', 'produts' instead of 'products', and awkward collocations like 'bussiness ideas will raise'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'preservatives' and 'domestically', but the overall control of lexical features is inconsistent. While communication is not severely impeded, these recurring errors and the limited precision in vocabulary prevent the response from reaching Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain grammatical errors. Examples of structural and agreement faults include 'The significant amount of population are more attracted', 'the products that is made', and 'The reason behind that I mentioned it as positive trend'. There are also run-on sentences and punctuation slips that require the reader to re-read certain portions to grasp the intended meaning. While basic sentence forms are generally controlled, the high frequency of grammatical and structural inaccuracies places this response at Band 5.0.
