Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for buying local goods such as cost-effectiveness and job creation, and touches upon both positive and negative impacts. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on costs mentions transport fees and taxes, but remains generalized without strong, well-integrated examples. The position is stated but lacks complete clarity in parts, particularly in the conclusion which trails off ('However, sometimes they are not following tren'). These limitations align best with Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, though the final sentence is incomplete. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'All in all', but referencing and logical progression are sometimes faulty. For example, the sentence 'These can includes majority of the people' uses a pronoun ('These') with an unclear referent. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall progression lacks smooth transitions between ideas, making the reading experience somewhat disjointed. This corresponds to a Band 5.0 level of coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but exhibits noticeable limitations and errors. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'ultimately' and 'overpriced', but word choice and collocation errors are frequent. Examples include 'local produced are lot more cheaper', 'transfered' instead of transported, and 'bright' instead of benefit. These errors and spelling mistakes occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the lexical resource in the Band 5.0 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of the complex attempts contain grammatical errors. Examples of inaccurate structures include 'items which is imported' (subject-verb agreement), 'local produced are lot more cheaper than transfered', and 'means country has to pay taxes on each products' (missing articles and pluralization errors). Punctuation and grammatical errors are frequent and can cause difficulty for the reader, restricting the score to Band 5.0.
