Student answer (Band 6.0)
Modern world is all about imported goods from various parts of the country. Some section of society are selecting to by products which are made locally compare to exported things. I believe that the main reason behind it is that the items are cheaper and available easily at any stores. It is positive developmet as it creates productivity and maintains economic growth.
Firstly, the goods are way cheaper compared to international products. As overseas things always adds up with extra duty charges and shipping fees which makes the item more costly. However, same stuff can be purchased at minimal price from the local store which saves lot of money. For instance, people choose generic medicines from domestic supplier rather than which is exported internationally as it is made in same region there is minimal tax whichis cost effective. Secondy, local products are easily accessible and customer do not have to wait longer to shop their item. The production is in the same region due to that the stores always have stock availabe which can fulfill consumer demand. To illustrate, person can get their favourite cookies easily as it is made in nearby region and the shop always have enough stock due to local manufacturing.
I believe it ia a positive trend as it fosters economic growth of that country and increases productivity. If the product is made locally the seller does not have to pay shipping charges this way company saves lot of money and thsi helps maintaing economic balance. For example, the organization saves much money if they produced things by their own and there would be no other import charges. Moreover, it creates employment if the things are produced in local region. To exemplify, a large number of people can get jobs if there is a bread making factory in small town.
To conclude, consumers are increasingly choosing goods made locally because it is cheaper and easily accessible. Moreover, it creates countries economic development and fosters employment for various people whole live in that region which is overall a positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by identifying reasons for choosing local goods over imported ones (cheaper, easily accessible) and presenting a clear position that this is a positive trend because it fosters economic growth and employment. The ideas are generally supported with examples, such as generic medicines and bread-making factories. However, some arguments lack full depth and generalise slightly, placing this performance at Band 6.0. The candidate clearly outlines their position in the introduction and maintains it through to the conclusion, ensuring the prompt requirements are adequately covered.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different points, such as cost and accessibility in the first body paragraph, and economic growth and employment in the second. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, seen in transitions like 'Secondy' and repetitive linking structures. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother to reach a higher band. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate and coherent, earning a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'productivity', 'economic growth', 'accessible', and 'manufacturer'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'developmet' instead of development, 'by' instead of buy, 'availabe' instead of available, and 'ia' instead of is. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, as the attempts at less common vocabulary are undermined by recurring inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures and relative clauses (e.g., 'If the product is made locally the seller does not have to pay shipping charges'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, such as missing articles ('person can get their favourite cookies'), agreement issues, and run-on sentences lacking proper punctuation ('tax whichis cost effective'). These errors can occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar performance with a Band 5.5 descriptor.
