Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary society, buyers choice is changing with time. Previously, people perfer to buy imported goods and for that they sourced that from number of different platforms. But now consumers are more towards locally produced products. This essay will analyze what are the possible reasons and this is a positive or a negative trend.
Nowadays, consumers are more towards purchasing goods that are locally produced. One of the reasons is their satisfaction and trust on local companies. If local companies meeting all the international standards to produce a product, consumers will not hesitate to buy local products. Moreover, local products are cheaper than imported ones. Sometimes, the quality is better than imported goods.
However, to some extend it is a positive trend. In recent years, the government policies have changed and they keep changing regarding importing products from outside the country. In order to collect tax they impose heavy duties on imported product, by buying local products customers do not need to pay import duty. Furthermore, a number of imported products sourced from the third party, they claim that they buy the product from outside the country and deliver at your doorstep, which is somehow risky because there are a chances of fraud. For instance, they claim that they purchase the product from Europe but there are chances that they buy the local product and deliver you. If a custmor buy a local good, he will help the local business and supports the economy of his country and the local business owner prosper.
From my perspective, it is of paramount importance that people of any country must support their country by choosing locally produced goods. In that way they help the economy of the country to prosper and the govrnments do not need to pay more in order to import goods that our local companies can manufacture. However, we can not completely ignore the imported products because sometimes we need the raw material to produce the goods.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying reasons for buying local goods and expressing a clear position that it is a positive trend. The ideas are relevant and supported with explanations such as trust in local companies, price advantages, and avoidance of import duties or online fraud risks. However, some arguments remain somewhat under-developed, particularly regarding the economic impacts, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Nevertheless, the position is maintained consistently throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is generally coherent with an overall logical arrangement, dividing ideas into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different points, such as reasons for the trend in the second paragraph and the evaluation of its positivity in the third. Cohesive devices are employed, but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'However, to some extend it is a positive trend,' and referencing can occasionally be unclear. Overall, progression is apparent, though logical links could be smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas effectively. There is an attempt to use less common items and phrases such as 'contemporary society,' 'international standards,' and 'paramount importance.' However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'perfer' instead of prefer, 'extend' instead of extent, and 'custmor' instead of customer. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary control is sometimes inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditionals and relative clauses like 'If local companies meeting all the international standards...' and 'consumers who are more towards...'. However, there are several grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as missing auxiliary verbs ('If local companies meeting') and article misuse ('helps the economy of the country'). While these errors do not prevent comprehension, they occur frequently enough to restrict the score to a Band 6.
