Student answer (Band 5.5)
In Todays world, people are encourging to buy products that are produced in their society, as compare to buy it from overseas. This is a positive trend and I would like to discussed this in the upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, consumers buy goods and services from their local sellers because they want to support local. They want to motivate and help them to purchase their goods. Moreover, customers feel that if they go to local shops they can make sure the quality, freshness of the product. For Example, if they want to import some produce items like fruits and vegetables. They would not get a chance to pick fresh.
Secondly, choosing to import goods from another country would be more expensive for them. Due to inflation, it is a good idea to buy products from your local sellers to avoid extra tax. For Example, If you choose to buy products from overseas it might be cheaper in price However, you will have to all the traiffs and extra charges of packimg and handling of products.
In addition to, buying pruducts from your local is more convenient as compare to import goods. There will be no wait time and you can go get it at the same time. However, if consumers choose to buy something from another country they will have to wait for several days till their order arrives.
In conclusion, I would like to say choosing to purchase goods from your local area, rather than imported goods is a positive trand in the society. It has more avantages than disadvantages like cheaper, more convenient and faster delivery.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by identifying reasons for buying local goods, such as supporting local businesses, ensuring freshness, avoiding import expenses, and achieving greater convenience, while also clearly stating a position that this is a positive trend. Ideas are relevant and extended, though some points, such as the discussion on quality and prices, remain somewhat basic and could benefit from further elaboration. For instance, mentioning specific benefits to the local economy would strengthen the response. Nevertheless, the requirements of the task are adequately met, corresponding to Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a clear overall arrangement with logical paragraphing, where each body paragraph focuses on a distinct reason. Cohesive devices are employed to signal progression, such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In addition to', although some transitions are awkward, such as 'In addition to,' missing its object. Referencing is generally clear, but mechanical cohesive devices are occasionally over-used or faultily constructed. Paragraphs follow a recognizable pattern, contributing to a coherent structure overall, placing this text firmly at a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting some less common items such as 'inflation', 'tariffs', and 'convenient'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, including 'encourging' instead of 'encouraged', 'as compare' instead of 'compared', 'packimg', 'pruducts', and 'trand'. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded as the meaning remains clear throughout the essay. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures like 'if they want to import some produce items'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as passive voice misuse ('people are encourging to buy'), missing prepositions, and awkward clause structures ('I would like to discussed this'). Punctuation and article usage also show persistent inaccuracies. While simple sentences are generally successful, errors in complex structures can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing this criterion at a Band 5.0.
