Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, import and export is very big business make this world like a small village, but nowdays many consumers prefer local ares goods rather than imported goods. I believe thet it is positive trend.

Moreover, buying goods from local farmers and producers not only make contribution in the community and local economy but also it create job opporunities for local people as well as it motivate people to work for development of the socities rather than working in overseas. For instance, the imported product take long distance and time of traveling to reach their destination (KICTHEN ) .

Shading light on the positive trend, the local food is much more fresher and easy to grab as compare ot the imported goods.and when we spend money on local food it also help in the growth of people and it will make them motivate so they produce more qualityand good food for their community. For example, buying , bread from the local breakery support the owner and worker for providing the fresh food to the locals.

On the other hand, no doubt the imported goods cheap some timeand offer varities in theparticular product, but still ibelieve that buying goods from local is more good and positive trend.

Overall, although imported goods buisness make overseas relationship strong and give varities to consumers, but still buy goods from local leads the positive change in socities and give strength tothe roots of community .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by identifying reasons for buying local goods and expressing a clear position that this is a positive trend. However, ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the reasons given regarding community contributions and fresh food are stated simply without deep elaboration or robust examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the minimum length requirement, containing only 240 words instead of the required 250, which restricts the depth of the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text displays a coherent overall arrangement and attempts a logical structure with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, such as economic benefits versus freshness. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, relying on repetitive transitional markers like 'Moreover' and 'For example', and referencing is not always completely clear, such as the abrupt insertion of '(KICTHEN )'.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and spelling, such as 'ares' instead of 'area', 'thet', 'opporunities', 'socities', 'fresher', 'as compare ot', 'breakery', 'cheap some time', and 'varities'. These errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary suitable for this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentences. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('import and export is', 'it create', 'product take'), missing articles ('is positive trend'), and incorrect prepositions or phrasing ('make contribution in', 'spend money on local food it also help'). Punctuation spacing errors are also prevalent.
