Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is true that local items value is increasing day by day among the local people which over shadow the imported one. There are number of reasons behind this approch which i would discuss in upcomg paragraphs and also mention the pros and cons of this trend.

Firstly, local label items are much cheaper than imported one because they do not carry transportation charges, taxes and expenditure which make them pocket friendly for local folks. Moreover, local goods making process is more cristial clear than outside goods because we can see the whole process under our naked eyes. For example, My friend wheet flour is earning more money than biggest flour brands in thier area beacuse they follow the all wheat griding process in the front of coustomers.

From my point of view, it has both good and bad effects. If people give prefernce to local goods then it would help to generate local income and every house will have small startup.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

Your response addresses the task only partially, and importantly, you did not meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, writing only 161 words. While you attempt to identify reasons for buying local goods, such as them being cheaper because they 'do not carry transportation charges', your ideas remain limited and under-developed. Furthermore, your introduction promises to discuss 'the pros and cons of this trend', but your conclusion only briefly touches on income generation and small startups before cutting off abruptly. Your position is not fully articulated throughout the essay, and the lack of development across your points prevents the response from reaching a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation in your writing, as you attempt to divide your thoughts into paragraphs and use basic transitional markers like 'Firstly' and 'Moreover'. However, there is no clear overall progression across the text, and the essay ends prematurely. Your cohesive devices are at times repetitive, inaccurate, or inadequate, such as the sudden jump in the final paragraph from discussing local preference directly to a truncated conclusion. Additionally, paragraphing is not used sufficiently to structure a complete argument, reflecting an arrangement that lacks full coherence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. There are numerous word choice, collocation, and spelling errors throughout your text. For instance, terms like 'value' instead of 'popularity', 'approch' instead of 'approach', 'upcomg' instead of 'upcoming', 'cristial clear' instead of 'crystal clear', and 'wheet flour' instead of 'wheat flour' demonstrate that your control over lexical items is insecure. These errors indicate a vocabulary range that struggles to move beyond basic expressions accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic patterns. When you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty, such as in the opening sentence: 'It is true that local items value is increasing day by day among the local people which over shadow the imported one.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, plurals, and articles—for example, 'imported one', 'a number of reasons', and 'follow the all wheat griding process'. These frequent errors create noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader.
