Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many buyers start buying goods which are produced in their local market as compared to international market. It is a positive trend and it will lead to many positive factors. Although many people prefer imported goods, they also buy from local market.

Firstly, buying goods from local market will provide you many benifits. For example, Make In India is a scheme which is launched by our prime minister, according to make in india, every product should me maufacture in the country, it will help to minimise the export sector which leads in growth of the economy. In the addition, local area goods will provide you security and trust which is comprimise in imported goods. Some policies like, return policies, right to information act and many more will hepls the consumer in many ways.

Moreover, government of india also lighting the consumer court for the protection of the consumer. If any consumer face any frauds by the seller than he can directly file a case against the seller, it helps to reduce the risk of frauds and boost the confidence of consumer. However, few consumer prefer imported goods due to their personal choice and prefernce. For example, some brands are not manufactured in India , so they are importing goods from other countries. Obiviously, it is a personal choice and consumer is free to buy the goods from where they want to buy.

Overall, purchasing goods from local area is a positive trend and it will help the country to grow in economically and financially sector, additionally consumer will also feel safe and secure for purchasing products from local area.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that buying locally is positive, and you include relevant points about economic growth, consumer protection and the availability of some imported brands. However, the task is only partly addressed because the reasons consumers are increasingly choosing local goods are not explained directly or fully. For example, the discussion of “Make In India” focuses on national production and exports, while the claims that local goods offer “security and trust” and reduce fraud need clearer explanation or a specific example. The opposing preference for imported brands is acknowledged, but not explored in depth. Develop two or three reasons explicitly and show how each influences consumers to choose local products.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding summary. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “Overall” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression is uneven because several ideas are placed together without clear links: the first body paragraph moves from a government scheme to consumer trust and then to return policies. Some connections are also unclear, such as how reducing the export sector would support economic growth. The contrast beginning “However” is relevant, but its relationship to the main argument could be made more explicit. Group related points into focused paragraphs and use linking phrases to explain cause and effect, rather than relying mainly on basic signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “imported goods,” “consumer court,” “protection,” and “personal choice,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. For instance, “minimise the export sector” does not clearly express the intended economic benefit, and “lighting the consumer court” is not an appropriate phrase. Spelling errors such as “benifits,” “maufacture,” and “prefernce” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise topic language and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague or incorrect expressions with phrases such as “support domestic businesses” and “strengthen consumer protection” would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If any consumer face any frauds by the seller than he can directly file a case.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “every product should me maufacture” has an incorrect modal construction, while “few consumer prefer” and “it will helps” show agreement or verb-form problems. There are also awkward sentence boundaries and punctuation, particularly in the long sentence about the government scheme. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their grammar.
