Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, individuals are not prefering to purchase imported items. They like to buy that products which are produced in their own areas. This essay will disccuss the reason and positive effect; that local items are more fresh and budget friendly as compare to imported products.
The main reason behind the increasing demand of local produced products among people is things are more fresh and genuine. Meanwhile, when the production of these goods are completed, worker directly send them to stores or shopping centres in order to sell. Whereas, imported goods consume long time to import. For instance, in canada, some food items are import from other countries, however they remove the expiry dates before they reach to stores.
Therefore, consumers would prefer local produced products as compare to imported one due to its freshness.
Furthermore, buy local produced items, it is such a positive trend. Because, these tems are more budget friendly and people can save money. For example, when the items are being sent from one country to another country, there is additional charges and taxes included in the original price of the item. So, Consumer have to pay that charges while purchasing these imported items rather than local produced items.
In conclusion, while people may vary their reasons, I believe that main cause behind the more demand of local produced goods as compare to imported items is freshness. Additionally,It is great and positive trend among people, due to the ocket friendly prices of local items.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you identify freshness as a reason for choosing local goods and judge the trend positively because local products are more affordable. These points are relevant, and the examples about transport costs and food imports help illustrate them. However, the explanation remains limited: the claim that imported food has expiry dates removed is serious but unsupported, and the response does not explore other possible reasons or wider effects of buying locally. Your position is clear overall, though the conclusion repeats the main points rather than developing them. The response is also three words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain each reason more fully and use a credible, specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on freshness, while the second explains affordability, so the reader can follow the main line of argument. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear: “Meanwhile” and “Whereas” do not establish a clear contrast in the first body paragraph, and “Therefore” repeats the preceding point. References such as “these goods” and “that charges” are not always clear. Use fewer, more precise linking phrases and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous one explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “imported goods,” “expiry dates,” “additional charges” and “budget friendly,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the writing less natural, such as “local produced products,” “more fresh,” “ocket friendly” and “disccuss.” Repetition of “local” and “items” also limits variety. Aim to learn accurate phrases as complete collocations—for example, “locally produced goods” and “transport costs”—and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the reasons and effects without relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “Because” and a contrast introduced by “however.” Nevertheless, errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “individuals are not prefering” has an incorrect verb form, while “when the production of these goods are completed” has subject–verb disagreement. In “people can save money,” the surrounding sentence also needs a complete grammatical connection to the claim. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries need attention, as in “there is additional charges” and the comma splice before “however.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, agreement, and correct punctuation.
