Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the 21st centuary, production of vegetables and crops has been increased significently because of the technological advancements in agriculture field. Locally produced goods are very popular to purchase among the natives rather than depending on imported goods. It is a positive development for the betterment of the society as individuals able to get fresh and at low price. Some of the reasons will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with the most important reason behind this trend is to get free pesticide grown products and to avoid frozen vegetables by the people. Because most of the health issues have been raised by eating ready made meal and prepackaged food. The secondary reason is just to purchase local products at lower cost, whereas imported goods are mostly seen on selling highest price with import duity charges as well. Therefore, middle class and poor people save a good amount of money and in return they get fresh and healthy greens.

This is a positive trend as it helps to support local farmers. It influences them to grow more in their fields and sell in local food markets. which is not just help ecnomically but also save expenses for tranporting goods or crops to another region.

To conclude, although imported goods are purchased by some regions because of their geographical areas as the land is not unfarmed but in most of the countries locally grown products are in trending to buy and it costs in positive way for the population.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you give reasons such as freshness, lower prices and avoiding imported goods, and clearly call the trend positive because it supports local farmers. However, the response only partially develops these points. For example, the claim that local produce is “free pesticide” is not explained or supported, and the link between ready-made meals and consumers choosing local goods is unclear. The benefit to farmers is relevant, but it would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how local purchasing improves their livelihoods. The conclusion also introduces geographical limitations without clearly connecting them to your overall position. The response is one word below the required minimum, so ensure you meet the stated length in future tasks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph explaining why the trend is positive, and a conclusion. This makes the overall arrangement coherent. You also use signposting such as “To begin with,” “The secondary reason,” and “To conclude.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “Because most of the health issues…” is a fragment, and “which is not just help…” does not connect grammatically to the preceding sentence. The conclusion’s contrast about regions with unsuitable land is difficult to follow. Use complete sentences and make each paragraph’s main point explicit, then connect supporting explanations directly to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “imported goods,” “pesticide,” “import duty charges,” “local farmers,” and “transporting goods.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For instance, “free pesticide grown products” does not clearly express what you mean, while “selling highest price” and “in trending to buy” are unnatural. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “centuary,” “significently,” “duity,” and “tranporting.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations for food production, prices and consumer choices, and proofread spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “whereas” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure and verb forms sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “production … has been increased,” “individuals able to get,” and the fragment “Because most of the health issues have been raised…”. In “which is not just help…,” the relative clause is not formed correctly, and the final sentence contains several clauses that are difficult to connect. Practise complete sentence patterns, subject–verb agreement and verb forms. For example, write “individuals are able to get” and attach a because-clause to a complete main clause.
