Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, a growing number of people are opting to buy products such as food, clothes and furniture that are locally produced rather than imported. There are some reasons behind this trend. From my perspective, This approach has beneficial outcomes.
The first and foremost reason is that reasonable price. People can get quality products at lower rates because neighbourhood shops are not required to pay higher taxes as compared to multinational companies. As a result, They can sell their goods at a decent price. Therefore, It encourages individual to buy all necessary items from them. Moreover, the another reason is that quick service. sometimes products from abroad take take time to arrive and customers may have to wait additional time. To avoid this, They can visit the local market and buy anything according to their needs. In addition to this, fresh quality of food always attract customers to buy them such as locally produced vegetables. This is because, Its better for health in terms of a balanced diet.
This trend can help to generate employment as for local citizens demand increases, shop owners may hire someone to run the business profitably. For instance, deliver drivers can be hired to shipping goods. consequently, the ratio of unemployment can lower by providing jobs. Moving further, businesses would become less dependent on another countries if individuals place more emphasis on buying local products. Therefore, they can compete in the market because those firms that lack funds are unable to buy foreign products.
In conclusion, this development can be considered positive as it creates jobs and helps people buy quality product at affordable prices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including lower prices, quicker access and fresh food, and you clearly judge the trend to be positive. The employment example and the point about reducing dependence on other countries also support your position. This is a relevant response, but some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, the claim that neighbourhood shops pay lower taxes than multinational companies is asserted without support, and the point about firms competing because they lack funds is difficult to follow. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make sure the final supporting point directly reinforces your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph describing benefits, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “As a result” and “For instance” help show relationships. However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph moves from employment to national business dependence without explaining the link, while “Therefore” introduces a conclusion that does not clearly follow from the preceding point. Referencing is also occasionally vague, as in “them” after “fresh quality of food.” Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its example explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “locally produced,” “multinational companies,” “employment” and “dependent,” which allows you to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. There are also noticeable problems with word choice and collocation that make some phrases unnatural or unclear: “reasonable price,” “fresh quality of food,” “deliver drivers” and “the ratio of unemployment can lower.” Some expressions are repeated, particularly “buy” and “products,” and “quality product” is not formed naturally in the conclusion. Aim for more precise collocations and check word forms and spelling. These improvements would make your meaning clearer and give your vocabulary greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including reason clauses with “because” and a conditional structure beginning “if individuals place more emphasis.” Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation are persistent enough to limit accuracy. Examples include the fragment “The first and foremost reason is that reasonable price,” the agreement error “fresh quality of food always attract,” and “the another reason.” The sentence beginning “as for local citizens demand increases” also needs clearer clause boundaries and punctuation. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, and proofread capitalization after full stops; these changes would improve control while preserving your attempts at complexity.
