Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many individuals prefer to shop from their own area rather than opting for the branded products. This trend is getting viral with every passing day. This is a good change as the people are now benefiting their homeland economically and helping the vendors in growing the market as importing costs a lot.

The budget associated with importing the material is way too high and affects the country financially. Whether the products are coming from the nearby country there is a specific cost the country has to pay to buy the goods. The cost incudes transportation, sales, communication, etc. Moreover, the government has to pay huge amount of taxes as well.

Buying from the local people promotes the vendors to produce good quality products as now they have more number of customers who wants to buy the things from their shop. This will motivate them to work harder for the betterment of their lifestye as they will be earning more than the usual. They will be able to educated their kids and will probably send them to good schools and universities. The shopkeepers might move to some porshe area despite having different backgrounds. This will help them financially, mentally and physically.

This is a great change for the entire nation as its helpful for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including reduced import-related costs, and clearly describe the trend as positive. The points about supporting vendors and improving their families’ prospects are relevant. However, the explanation remains limited and some claims, such as local buying benefiting people “mentally and physically,” are not clearly explained or supported with an example. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, which limits how fully you can develop your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain the economic effects more precisely and add a specific example, while making sure each part of the task is fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a brief conclusion. Ideas within the paragraphs are generally related, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “This will” help show connections. However, the overall progression is limited: the final paragraph simply repeats that the trend is positive rather than drawing together the reasons discussed. Some links are also unclear, particularly the shift from vendors earning more to moving to a “porshe area.” Repeated use of “This will” makes the connections feel mechanical. Develop a clearer sequence of reason, explanation and example in each body paragraph, and use referencing that makes the relationship between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “importing costs,” “transportation,” “taxes,” “vendors” and “customers,” so the reader can follow the main points. However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal. “Getting viral” is not a natural way to describe a growing trend, while “benefiting their homeland economically” and “promotes the vendors to produce” are awkward. There are also spelling errors, including “incudes,” “lifestye” and “porshe,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions such as “supporting the local economy” and “encourages local producers,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer structures, including the conditional idea “as they will be earning more” and a relative clause in “customers who wants to buy.” Meaning is usually understandable, but errors occur regularly and some sentence patterns are faulty. For example, “customers who wants” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “They will be able to educated their kids” uses the wrong verb form after “to.” In “the government has to pay huge amount of taxes,” the article is missing. The opening sentence also has an unclear comparison structure. Practise accurate agreement, infinitives and articles, and build longer sentences only when you can control their grammar.
