Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays consumer are buying good that are produced in their local area rather than imported good. Which i think is a good sign and have a positive impact in the society rather than having imported products.

One of the reason is to support the local businesses. This also leads to increase in sales and revenue of local businessman. This will help local businessman in improving their financial conditions. This is because local producers earn money from their customers, which allows them to expand their businesses and employ more workers. For example, buying vegetables from nearby farmers helps them earn a stable income and support their families. As a result, the local economy becomes stronger and unemployment may decrease.

Another important reason is that locally produced goods can be more environmentally friendly. This is beacuse imported product travel a lot less tham imported products. More transportation lead to more carbon emmision and we get the products at a higher with compromised quality. Local good can be more fresh and a better healthy option. As a result, choosing local goods can help protect the environment and promote a more sustainable lifestyle.

In my opinion, this is a positive trend because it benefits both society and the environment. Although imported goods may offer more variety, I believe consumers should give preference to local products whenever possible. However, they should also consider the quality and price of the products before making a purchase.

In cocclusion consumer are choosing more locally produced good which have it's both pros and cons. Overall, I beleive this has a positive impact on local business and we get better quality of food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods—supporting businesses and reducing transport-related emissions—and clearly state that you see this as a positive trend. The examples about nearby farmers and employment make the first reason relevant and concrete. However, the environmental explanation is less fully developed, and the claim that local goods offer “compromised quality” is unclear and does not support your point. The conclusion also introduces “pros and cons” without explaining a disadvantage, which slightly weakens the consistency of your position. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more precisely and develop the qualification about price, quality, or imported goods with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs explaining reasons, a paragraph stating your view, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “In my opinion” help readers follow the main points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the environmental paragraph, “This is because imported product travel a lot less than imported products” appears to contradict the intended point, disrupting the progression. The final paragraph’s reference to “pros and cons” is not prepared for by the preceding discussion. Make links between claims explicit, use pronouns and references carefully, and ensure the conclusion accurately reflects the arguments already presented.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “local businesses,” “revenue,” “carbon emission,” “sustainable lifestyle,” and “unemployment.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “local,” “goods,” and “products.” Several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret, such as “travel a lot less tham imported products,” “at a higher with compromised quality,” and “better healthy option.” Spelling slips such as “beacuse,” “emmision,” and “cocclusion” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise phrases for transport, freshness, and economic benefits, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “goods that are produced in their local area” and a conditional-style explanation of how earnings allow businesses to expand. Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. The opening “Which I think…” is a sentence fragment, and “consumer are buying” and “local good can be” show agreement or number problems. Articles and possessives are also inconsistent, as in “one of the reason” and “consumer are choosing.” The sentence about imported products is difficult to follow partly because its comparison is not grammatically complete. Practise complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and plural forms, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
