Student answer (Band 4.5)
products being sold locally and imported goods both on their sides are good but as a customer we have to see whether we can afford local goods or imported and we know that local products are little bit cheaper as concerned to imported.
so if the custonmer can not afford imported product how can they buy it and the only option left is the ;local product also people say that we should promote local products.
becuase of the opportunity should be given to local industries also and so that they gain better chances of gaining popularity .
so in my opinion it is a positive trend to buy local product also its to promote local inductry so that they can also gain opportunity and also a chance to bring change and work for the developmemnt of their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a relevant opinion, stating that buying local products is positive, and you identify affordability and support for local industries as reasons. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the reasons are briefly asserted rather than explained, and there is no specific example or discussion of other possible motivations, such as freshness or environmental impact. The view that local goods are cheaper is also presented as a general fact without support. The response is 138 words, which is 112 words below the required minimum; this leaves too little space to develop both parts of the question. To improve, explain each reason with a clear cause-and-effect link and add a relevant example before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic line of thought: local goods may be more affordable, consumers are encouraged to support local products, and you conclude that this is positive. However, the ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the progression is difficult to follow because several points are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “so if the customer cannot afford” moves from affordability to promoting local products without a clear transition. Repeated use of “also” and “so” does not show the relationship between ideas precisely. Organise the response into an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and your evaluation, and a conclusion; use linking phrases that clarify cause, contrast, and result.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central topic, including “local products,” “imported,” “afford,” and “promote.” There are also attempts to express broader ideas, such as “gain better chances of gaining popularity” and “work for the development of their country.” However, the range is limited and some phrases are repetitive or imprecise, which makes the argument less clear. Spelling errors such as “custonmer,” “becuase,” “inductry,” and “developmemnt” are noticeable. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe local businesses as “domestic producers” and explain that buying their goods can “support local employment” or “strengthen the regional economy.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with attempts to connect ideas using “because,” “so,” and “also.” These attempts show some awareness of linking clauses, but the structures are often incomplete or difficult to control. For instance, “because of the opportunity should be given to local industries also” does not form a complete, clear clause, while “as a customer we have to see whether we can afford local goods or imported” has an unclear comparison and missing grammatical elements. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings and between ideas. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use a small range of accurate complex structures, such as “Because local goods may cost less, consumers can…”.
