Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, there is a trend going on in which customers are focusing to buy local produced good than imported goods. From last decade we should see the goverment is promoting regional product. As a result we can see positive tend in it. According to me it is a positive trend as we our encouraging our locals works to work more.

Since last few years, due to the ongoign wars the supply chain is disturbed. As a result the price of forein good has increased a lot. Seeing the currentr situation, the goverment has introduced many schemes which support local businesses. Curently, we can see there are more job opportunities opening for everyone, hikes in salary, bonus, etc.

For instance we can see that earlier the price of imported iphone 18 was $1700, which now has been increased top $2000 due to wars. After the govorment schemes of local iphone, The price has droped to $1800. We can clearly asee that there is employment increasing in the country along with it there is price drop. Which is win-win situation for everyone.

As per the recent report of Times of Canada, the unemployment rate has been redued to 10% which used to be 15%. We can conclute that there is positive changes happening in the country.

The main reson for this going to advertisements. They help the consumers to understand the advantages to buy local goods and also understand the oimportance for the same.

To conclute, It is important to support workers of our country and it is our responsibility to purchase the homemade products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for buying local goods, including government promotion and advertising, and clearly describe the trend as positive. The examples about employment, prices and the reported fall in unemployment are relevant to that position. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The discussion of advertising appears only near the end and is not explained with a specific example, while the earlier focus on war-related supply problems and government schemes needs clearer links to consumers’ choices. The iPhone example also makes a specific claim without explaining how it is locally produced. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and a credible, directly relevant example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening position, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate the discussion of supply problems, examples and advertising. However, the progression between ideas is not always clear: the move from government schemes to job opportunities, then to the iPhone example and unemployment figures, feels like a list rather than a connected argument. Linking phrases such as “As a result” and “For instance” are used, but some connections are asserted rather than explained. The conclusion repeats the general position without drawing together the reasons. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason and use clear references to show how each example supports it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “supply chain,” “local businesses,” “job opportunities” and “unemployment rate,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts less clear, such as “focusing to buy,” “local produced good,” “foreign good” and “positive tend.” There are also repeated references to “local” and “positive,” and some phrases are imprecise, including “locals works to work more.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and vary the vocabulary used to describe consumers, domestic production and economic effects. Proofreading spelling and word forms would also make your meaning easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “Since last few years, due to the ongoing wars the supply chain is disturbed. As a result…” and a relative clause in “a trend…in which customers…”. Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in tense, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “the price has droped” should use the past participle “dropped,” while “there is employment increasing” needs a more controlled structure, such as “employment is increasing.” The opening also shifts awkwardly between “Nowadays” and “From last decade.” Practise accurate past and present forms and build longer sentences around one clear main clause.
