Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are distinct options are avaliable for people to buy materialistic things for their survival such as products which are imported or simply produced in local companies. There are many consumers at present trying to utilise on essentials that are made locally rather than order from outside the area or country. In this essay, I will explain the causes behind this trend and my intentions why it can be a positive development.

There are two main factors that could promotes more people to spend on local produces. Firstly, price differences can be a major concept behind it. To make it clear, mostly goods that are importing other region or areas always more expensive because it included extra charges for handling and transportations facilities which normally increases the prices. Therefore, consumers do not want to spend more on the same products that can simply avaliable at their local shops. Secondly, trust issues can be a another reason for this habit. It can be seen in many people they cannot believe the quality for the goods that are not produced locally. For instance, sometimes the materials outsider businesses uses for products can be a copy or dublicated, which could break the trust of consumers and they do not rely on imported things for their shoping more.Hence, these two factors makes consumers less interesting to buying things that are imported.

This could be a positive approach for local businesses or also it can save people from outsider frauds . If people believe local shops provides orginal materials and quality products than they are spending to buy from their which automatically enhances their businesses and they could contribute in their local economy. Additionally, It can work as a safest protocols if people stop contributing in imported products . For example, some outside bussinesses do this marketing only for collecting personal data from particular areas where they are sending their items

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods—lower prices and greater trust in their quality—and state that you see the trend as positive. The price explanation is relevant and supported by the point that imported goods incur handling and transport costs. However, the trust argument is less clearly explained, and the example about businesses collecting personal data is introduced without showing how common or directly connected this is to buying local. Your positive position is present, but the benefits are developed mainly through support for local businesses and the local economy. Explain the consumer and wider community benefits more fully, and make each example clearly support the point it follows.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, and a paragraph evaluating the trend. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Additionally” help readers follow the main points, and the central position is identifiable. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger progression. However, links can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear: “from their” does not clearly identify where consumers buy goods, while the final example about personal data is not smoothly connected to the claim about safety. The conclusion is also missing, so the evaluation ends abruptly. Use clearer referencing and transitions that explain the relationship between ideas, then finish with a brief summary of your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “price differences,” “handling,” “transportation,” “quality,” and “local economy,” so the reader can understand the main subject. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “things,” “products,” and “businesses,” and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “materialistic things for their survival” is not a natural way to describe everyday goods, and “less interesting to buying” does not express the intended idea clearly. Spelling errors such as “avaliable,” “dublicated,” and “orginal” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range around locally made goods, consumer confidence, and imported products, and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and a conditional structure beginning “If people believe…”. This shows an effort to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “There are distinct options are available” combines two sentence patterns, while “two main factors that could promotes” has incorrect agreement after “could.” In “goods that are importing… always more expensive,” the clause and main verb are not correctly formed. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and check each sentence for a complete main clause. Shorter, controlled sentences will help you express the ideas clearly before adding more complex structures.
