Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you give reasons such as supporting local businesses and buying fresher food, and state that the trend is positive because it can help farmers, employment and the environment. The Nepal example is relevant, but several points are only briefly stated or unclear—for instance, the environmental benefit is mentioned without explaining how reduced transport helps, and the reasons for choosing local goods are not developed beyond freshness and convenience. Your position is present, though the conclusion repeats ideas rather than drawing them together. The response is 246 words, so it is four words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the broad progression from reasons to your opinion. However, the organisation within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or joined without clear links. For example, the first body paragraph moves from fresh produce to supporting local businesses and then to market prices, while the second repeats the points about farmers and fresh vegetables. Connect each paragraph to one main purpose and arrange its supporting details in a clear sequence. Use linking expressions accurately and sparingly; phrases such as “Furthermore” help signal an additional point, but several sentences currently run together or end abruptly, weakening the overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “imported goods,” “employment opportunities,” “national economy” and “transportation,” so the general subject is clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “varous,” “prodects,” “convenientines,” “positive tends” and “inside money of the community.” The repeated use of “local area,” “fresh foods vegetables” and “help” also reduces precision. Build a more accurate set of collocations for this topic, such as “locally produced goods,” “support local farmers” and “keep money within the community,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a concession in “However, consumers should still access to have imported goods when local products unavailable or suitable.” However, sentence structures are limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “people increasingly choosing” needs a finite verb, while “it supports local area businesses and help environment” has inconsistent agreement and missing articles. The fragment “which helps earn money of local farmers” is not a complete sentence, and several sentences lack clear punctuation. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles and punctuation.
