Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are so many individuals are buying goods and services which are available in their local areas. In this essay, First I will discuss the reasons behind this trend and then I will share my opinion is this a positive or negative trend follwed by most of the people these days.

There are many reasons why will purchase local goods rather than imported goods and services. firstly, goods and services which are coming from different nations are very expensive because there are so many things which are from different brands. There are so many people who are not able to afford all those brands because on local products and services they do not need to pay taxes. Secondly, if talk about vegetables, fruits, milk, butter and many more, people prefer to buy these products from local areas because most of the farmers growing everythings in their own farm houses. So, they can buy fruits, milk and vegetables from them.

According to my perspective this is a postive trend to buy from local areas rather thsan imported because if people buy local products they can help to local farmers to increase their business and become more successful in their lives. Apart from this, this will create jobs for local people because nowadays unemployment is increasing day by day. So, this trend will help people to get jobs. Lastly, It help in reducing pollution because most imported good coming in different countries through ships and Aeroplane and creating a lot of difficulties for environment.

In conclusion, i alreasdy discuss freshness and inexpesive is major reasons behind this trend. This is a positive trend for reducing environment pollution, creating jobs and helping local people to expand their business.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including affordability and access to farm produce, and clearly state that you see the trend as positive. You also support this view with relevant benefits such as helping farmers, creating jobs and reducing transport-related pollution. These points keep the response focused on the task. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that local goods avoid taxes needs clarification, and the discussion of farmers could explain more directly why consumers prefer their products. The conclusion refers to freshness and low cost, but freshness is not clearly developed earlier. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. The sequence of ideas is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Secondly,” “Apart from this,” and “In conclusion” help show how points relate. This supports a coherent overall arrangement. At times, however, linking is mechanical or the reference is unclear. The opening promises to discuss reasons and then give an opinion, while the conclusion says “I already discuss freshness and inexpensive,” which does not accurately summarise the earlier points. Some sentences also repeat “goods and services” without adding information. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and make the conclusion reflect the ideas actually developed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported,” “local farmers,” “unemployment,” and “pollution.” These choices make your position and supporting points understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated use of “goods and services” and “local areas.” Some word choices and collocations are awkward, including “help to local farmers,” “farm houses,” and “inexpensive is major reasons.” Spelling errors such as “postive,” “thsan,” and “alreasdy” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for local production, consumer costs and environmental effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your main points. For example, you use a reason clause in “because there are so many things…” and a conditional structure in “if people buy local products they can help…”. However, some sentence patterns are faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning less clear. The opening, “There are so many individuals are buying,” combines two structures incorrectly; “why will purchase” also has an incorrect verb pattern. In “It help in reducing pollution,” the subject and verb do not agree. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, especially when writing longer sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
