Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing increase in goods bought locally rather than globally. While this approach can be beneficial and satisfactory, I strongly believe that this has a positive impact on a country because it contributes to the growth of the economy through tax remmitance from the public and producers, it is also affordable to every individual purchasing them.
One main reason is that it contributes to the development of the country through tax, several individuals who produce or manufacture perishable or unperishable items are expected to pay tax on goods, likewise the retailers and final consumers. Therefore this will impact the economy because those tax imposed on those goods will be allocated and budgeted to establish or develop basic amenities such as good road, electricity and the railway track for the citizen. For instance, when citizens pay tax to the government it will enable the government to provide basic facilities in the country such as public transport .
Another compelling reason is it makes every product affordable because they are locally produces and manufactured in the same country, unlike when some goods are imported to a country, such country's currency might be higher than the other producing country. Hence when retailers decides to sell such item they are being sold at an exorbitant price. For instance, a skimmed milk that was imported will be expensive because the retailer who imported it will budget shipping fee and delivery price to the amount he/she wants to sell that milk.
Overall, I believe this trend is advantageous to both individuals and the country because it promotes the products globally and also it provides economic benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you give reasons for buying locally—tax contributions and lower prices—and clearly state that you see this as a positive trend. The examples about public facilities and imported skimmed milk help make the points relevant. However, the explanation of why consumers choose local goods is not fully developed: the tax discussion focuses mainly on government revenue rather than directly explaining consumers’ motivations. The claim that local products “promote the products globally” in the conclusion is also not explained or supported. To strengthen the response, develop the consumer perspective more directly, for example by discussing freshness, trust in local producers, or support for local jobs, and explain how each reason benefits consumers or society.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction presents your position, two body paragraphs each develop a main reason, and a conclusion restates your view. Signposting such as “One main reason,” “Another compelling reason,” and “For instance” helps readers follow the argument. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. In the first body paragraph, the move from producers paying tax to consumers paying tax and then to public infrastructure could be linked more explicitly. The conclusion introduces global promotion without preparing for it earlier. Improve progression by making each paragraph’s central point explicit, then connecting the explanation and example directly to that point; use referencing carefully so phrases such as “those goods” have an unmistakable meaning.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “manufacture,” “retailers,” “currency,” “exorbitant price,” and “economic benefits.” These choices allow you to discuss production, taxation, and imported goods, and the meaning is generally clear. There are some inaccurate or unnatural choices, such as “tax remmitance,” “unperishable items,” “locally produces,” and “promotes the products globally.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “goods,” “products,” and “country.” Aim for more precise, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms. For example, “tax revenue” is more suitable than “tax remittance” here, while “non-perishable goods” and “locally produced” would express your intended meanings more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a skimmed milk that was imported” and a conditional structure in “when some goods are imported.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, the opening sentence joins several independent ideas with commas, creating a run-on structure; “retailers decides” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “such country's currency” needs a grammatically appropriate determiner. There are also awkward sentence boundaries, including the space before the full stop after “public transport.” To improve, separate long sentences where needed, check singular and plural subjects against their verbs, and review article and possessive forms.
