Student answer (Band 5.5)

Undoubtedly, Due to enhancement in technology it is really very easy to buy things aroung t he globe. Moreover, it is noticed that few folks are more interested to buying things from local shops intead of buying stuff globally. Buying things locally is less costly that help them to save money ,It is definately a positive trend because it help to provide more job oppertunities to locals.

To commence with, there are several reasons to buying local products but the first and foremost one is it is easily available. To elaborate it, if person buy products locally it is easly availble because buying products globally take time to reach home but if they buy from local market they can get stuff in one day instead of waiting 10-15 for imported products. Secondly, local products are less costly because buying products from abroad we have to pay so many taxes such as imported duty, customs delivery charges and so on. that will make thing more costly. For example, it is noticed that buying things locally provide more relibilty because it come with warrenty and we can easily get repaires of these things in local market.

It is a positive trend because it provide more job oppertunities to local individuals. To explain, if person develop interest in buying local products it also motivate to lcal masses to develop more products locally. As a result, they need more masses to work in their factories to produce more goods. To add on, to promote local products also help them to promote their culture and also benefit our economy while paying taxes. That will help in the growth of our economy.

To conclude, not only buying products from local shops are less costly to compare from imported goods but also it will provide more job oppertunities to our youngsters. In my perspective it is clearly a positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including availability, lower costs and easier repairs, and clearly state that you see this as a positive trend. The points about employment, local production and the economy are relevant and provide some explanation. However, the reasons are not equally developed: availability and cost are explained, while the claim that local goods support culture and the economy is asserted more briefly, without a specific example. The opening also suggests that local goods are cheaper, but this is not always true and would benefit from qualification. To strengthen the response, explain the causes of consumers’ preference more precisely and develop each main point with a concrete example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph supporting your positive view, and a conclusion. The sequence of ideas is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Secondly,” “As a result,” and “To conclude” help show the direction of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, with repeated phrases such as “To explain” and “To add on,” and a few connections are unclear. For example, the warranty and repair point appears within the discussion of cost, although it is a separate advantage. Some references, such as “That will help,” could identify their subject more clearly. Group related benefits together and use transitions that show whether you are adding a reason, giving an example, or explaining a result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported duty,” “customs delivery charges,” “job opportunities,” and “local products.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “things,” “products,” and “help,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. For instance, “more interested to buying” and “provide more reliability” do not express the intended meaning naturally; “interested in buying” and “offer greater reliability” would be clearer. Spelling errors, including “oppertunities,” “warrenty,” and “availble,” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of precise phrases for consumer choices and local economies, and proofread spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional and result structures such as “if person develop interest … it also motivate” and “As a result, they need more masses.” These attempts show some range, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make parts less smooth. For example, “it help to provide” should be “it helps to provide,” while “if person buy” needs an article and a correctly inflected verb: “if a person buys.” The opening also joins separate ideas with a comma and capitalises “Due” mid-sentence. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, singular/plural agreement, and appropriate punctuation; then vary structures while keeping them accurate.
