Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, local products are getting more attention in the market among people as compared to foregin items . i believe that this change is a best trend. There are a number of reasons for this change which i will discuss in the upcoming paragraphes.

The first and foremost reason why local items are dominating the foreign products is the availability of goods at local stores. The local stores are the nearest shopping place for the people where they can get anything without commuting far from home. Moreover, local products are always cheaper then imported items. So, people can buy cheaper things near their home.Altogather, these two things will boost the economy when money will be spend on local items instead of going outside the country.

Another worthmentiong reason is relevency. if people busy products from the local area shops they will get the similar thing to their needs, culture and tradition. In addition to that, high tax rates ,and delievery charges which doubled the original price of imported things.

The third reason is the availability of getting fresh things. For example,if someone wants to buy milk if he busy milk from a local shop . he will get the fresh milk from a local farmhouse while if he go to any superstore he will get prepacked milk with a expirey date on it. we dont know its correct or not and when it gets packed truely.

Overall, i believe that this trend is a very good and cruital trend because economy and value of cultures and right to get good things at relevent prices is very important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods and state clearly that you consider this a positive trend. The points about convenience, lower prices, cultural relevance and freshness are relevant, and the milk example helps illustrate the freshness argument. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For instance, the claim that buying locally “will boost the economy” would be stronger if you explained how it supports local businesses or employment. The point about cultural relevance is also asserted rather than demonstrated, and the final paragraph introduces concerns about packaged milk without clearly establishing that local milk is reliably fresher or safer. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and a specific, well-connected example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding statement of your view. Sequencing phrases such as “The first and foremost reason,” “Moreover,” and “Overall” help readers follow the main points. However, some connections are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. The sentence beginning “Altogather” moves from convenience and price to the economy without explaining the link. In the freshness paragraph, the example shifts into uncertainty about how milk is packed, which makes the point harder to follow. Use clearer links between each reason and its consequence, and make sure examples directly support the paragraph’s main idea. More precise referencing would also help readers track what “these two things” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “imported items,” “availability,” “economy,” “culture and tradition,” and “delivery charges.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “foregin,” “worthmentiong,” “relevency,” “delievery,” and “cruital.” Phrases such as “dominating the foreign products” and “right to get good things at relevant prices” are also not expressed naturally. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of precise phrases for discussing local production, consumer costs and economic benefits would make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “why local items are dominating” and a contrast between local and supermarket milk. However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, agreement and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “if he go to any superstore he will get” needs consistent subject–verb agreement, while “when money will be spend” has an incorrect verb form and tense pattern. Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, such as the sentence beginning “Moreover, local products…” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent tense, and correct clause boundaries. This will help your varied sentence attempts communicate more reliably.
