Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, some consumers prefer to purchase products from local markets rather than buying imported goods. This will creates more employment opportunity for local people and strengthen the indigenous business. Therefore, this is clearly a positive trend.
To begin with, there are several reasons of this trend. Such as, support the people of that area. buying things from them will help them to earn money and help their family. Secondly, food would be fresh if that will brings from the nearby areas. It helps to curb the pollution which create by imports. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for buying locally, including support for local livelihoods, fresher food and reduced pollution, and you clearly judge the trend to be positive. The examples of Gandhi’s promotion of khadi and continued interest in handmade crafts help make the response relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that local purchasing creates employment could be developed by showing how increased demand helps small producers expand or hire workers. The reference to “RO” is unclear, and the final point about international recognition is not fully connected to the main argument. Develop these ideas more precisely and explain the links between cause and benefit to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs on reasons and positive effects, and a concluding summary. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help signal the movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven, and the distinction between reasons and positive impacts is not always clear because employment and environmental benefits appear in both sections. Some linking is mechanical, while sentence fragments such as “Such as, support the people of that area” interrupt the flow. The reference in “Even today people still prefer…” is also difficult to follow because “RO” is unexplained. Group related ideas more clearly, use complete sentences, and make references explicit to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “imported goods,” “carbon emissions,” “traditional products,” and “handmade crafts.” These choices show an attempt to discuss economic, environmental and cultural effects. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear, as in “dacades,” “emmisions,” “potery,” and “glabal marketing.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “strengthen the indigenous business” and “fresh as possible” in this context. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, refer to “local businesses” and “preserve traditional skills.” A wider range of precise expressions would help you explain the benefits without repeating general terms such as “help” and “positive.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if that will brings from the nearby areas” and a relative clause in “which create by imports.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “This will creates,” “This creates more job opportunity,” and “Several people belives its great to have things which is…” There are also incomplete constructions, such as “Such as, support the people of that area,” and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms: for example, “This will create more employment opportunities” and “food brought from nearby areas is fresher.”
