Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, a growing number of individuals are more likely to buy those goods which are produced locally rather than imported things. This trend is driven by expensive things and vast selection of goods in a market. I believe that it is a constructive develpoment.
The primary reason why some customers choosing things which are made in local areas is higher prices of imported things. No doubt, bring in items such as fuel, electronic items, precious metals are quite expensive, while purchasing them individuals have to pay extra money to pay GST which is not possible for those people who are below poverty line because their wages are much lower than the prices, therefore, forcing towards to purchase local items. Furthermore, local markets offers a vast selection of goods with discount which attracts majority of individuals to buy it. For example, on festivals like New year, diwali and so on, localized areas provide offers on goods like buy one-get-one-free, hence people choose to buy things from restricted areas.
Conversely, I believe that buying goods from local city has its own benefits. Firstly, producing things locally gives opportunity to all individuals to work in their own nation without spending lots of money in other countries, ultimately people not only save their thousands of money but also boost their living standard. In addition, people can get fresh and healthy things. For instance, imported things are packed in boxes for a long time which may be harmful for human health specially packed milk, bread contains bacteria after two or three days. As a result, people have to face many difficulties regarding their health.
In conclusion, it is restated that there are numerous factors behind this phenomenon, I feel that it is a positive trend because it boosts the growth of comapany and fresh and nutrient items to eat.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including the cost of imports and local discounts, and clearly state that you see the trend as positive. The examples about festival offers and locally produced food help make the response relevant. However, some points are not fully explained or are unclear. For example, the claim that imported goods require extra GST and are unaffordable for people below the poverty line needs clearer support, while the link between local production and people avoiding work in other countries is not fully developed. The health example also focuses on packaged food rather than explaining the wider benefits of buying locally. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a directly relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and benefits, and a conclusion. The progression from affordability to local employment and freshness is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Firstly,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. At times, however, linking is mechanical or the relationship between ideas is not precise. “Conversely” suggests a contrast, although the next paragraph continues to support the positive view rather than presenting an opposing position. Some references, such as “buy it” after “goods,” are also unclear. Use transitions that accurately show the relationship between points, and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “imported,” “locally,” “living standard,” and “nutrient,” and the main meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “constructive development.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “restricted areas,” “spending lots of money in other countries,” and “boost the growth of comapany.” Some spelling errors, such as “develpoment” and “comapany,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and precise terms—for example, “local markets,” “support domestic businesses,” and “raise living standards”—and check spelling carefully. This would make your vocabulary more controlled and effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “which,” and your meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening of the second paragraph, “The primary reason why some customers choosing,” needs a finite verb (“choose” or “are choosing”). Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “local markets offers,” and the sentence beginning “No doubt, bring in items…” has an unclear grammatical structure. In addition, the long sentence about prices, wages, and local purchases would be clearer if divided into shorter sentences. Work on complete clause structure, agreement, and punctuation while continuing to use a mix of sentence patterns.
