Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's society, many people prefer locally produced food rather than products from other counties. This is mainly because they believe local goods are fresher and contribute to local economy .In my view this is entirely positive trend that benefits individuals and society as whole.
One reason people prefer local products is they trust the freshness of these goods. To be mre precise, fruits ,meat and dairy products are often delivered from local farms directly to markets ensures the quality which doesnt compromise due to long transportation hours like imported products. For example, vast number of people of spain prefer locally produced oranges rather than from european countries as spain is one from the large number of orange grovers by which people like to buy local fresh goods.
Another positive impact is national economy, when consumers priortize local foods they directly supports local farmers and strengthens the economic system. Along with it ,it will also increase the demand for job opportunities as if local farms will grow they need more labour in agriculture , manufacturing and textiles which needs more people to work .This not only boost employment but laso sustainable production practices in nation.
In my view point , the advantages of local production outweigh the negative points as it overall helps the society as whole by focusing on local trade, nations can become more self-sufficient and resilient against global economic fluctuations.
In conclusion , consumers preferance for locally produced food is positive tend as it ensures the better quality of products as well strength the national economy including employment opportunities which ultimately benefits the entire economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you explain that consumers value freshness and support for the local economy, and you clearly state that you see the trend as positive. The examples of local farms supplying produce and Spain’s oranges help make the reasons relevant. However, the freshness explanation is more developed than the economic argument, and the Spain example is difficult to follow, so its support is less convincing. The claim that local production creates jobs in agriculture, manufacturing and textiles would benefit from a clearer explanation of how these sectors connect to locally produced goods. Your conclusion restates the position effectively. To strengthen the response further, develop each reason with a precise explanation and a more clearly expressed example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction presents the reasons and your position, separate body paragraphs discuss freshness and economic benefits, and a conclusion summarises the view. Linking expressions such as “One reason,” “Another positive impact” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to recognise. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “Along with it” does not clearly show how job creation follows from supporting farmers, and the final body paragraph repeats the positive position without adding much development. Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries also sometimes interrupt the flow. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and ensure each paragraph advances the argument rather than repeating it.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “locally produced,” “self-sufficient,” “resilient” and “global economic fluctuations.” These choices help express the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as “preferance,” “priortize,” “grovers” and “tend,” which reduce accuracy. Some phrases are imprecise or unnatural, including “one from the large number of orange grovers” and “increase the demand for job opportunities.” The response also repeats “local” and “economy” frequently. Aim for more accurate collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, use “employment opportunities” rather than “job opportunities” in that construction, and describe Spain as a major orange-producing country.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “goods are fresher and contribute to local economy” and a conditional structure beginning “if local farms will grow.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation remain. For example, “fruits, meat and dairy products … directly to markets ensures” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an incomplete construction; “they directly supports” also mismatches subject and verb. Articles are missing in phrases such as “a positive trend” and “the local economy.” The conditional would be more accurate as “if local farms grow, they will need more labour.” Practise checking sentence boundaries and agreement while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
