Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, poeple prefer to buy products that are manufactured locally rather than giving prefernce to internationally imported goods. There are multiple factors that contribute to the usage of local products.
Locally manufactured products are prefered beacuse they are produced at less cost and people can buy at reasonable prices. Their production is more focused towards the basic needs of the specific region rather than universal trends. For example, the cloth manufacturing industy in Pakistan offers comfortable garments in less prices because the wages of the employees are considerate. The same clothes will cost more in UK retail beacuse of the difference in currency.
In my opinion, it is a positive trend because it boosts the economy of the region and provide more opportunities of emloyment to the local people. It also contributes to increase in the export and saves the expenditures of tax that is implemented on the import of goods. It also gives a better exposure to the local residents of their traditions and people from underdeveloped areas can benefit from wages.
In conclusion, it's a good practice to encourage people for buying local items if they get it in good quality rather than getting it imported through the hassale of customs just for the sake of a label. Moreover, a good citizen always prefers the growth of their own country's economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including lower prices and products suited to regional needs, and clearly state that you see this as a positive trend. The Pakistan clothing example helps illustrate the price point. However, several supporting claims—such as increased exports, reduced import-tax expenditure, and employment benefits—are introduced briefly rather than explained, so some ideas are less developed than others. The conclusion also adds a broad claim about what a “good citizen” does instead of drawing together the main reasons. The response is 27 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your explanation. Extend the discussion with a specific example and explain how each benefit follows.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. The progression from affordability to the positive effects on the local economy is easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however: “It also” begins several consecutive points, making the benefits read like a list rather than a connected explanation. The relationship between local purchasing and “an increase in exports” is also not made clear. Use a wider range of linking expressions and explain how each point connects to the central argument; clearer links between sentences would make the progression more convincing.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “manufactured locally,” “basic needs,” “currency,” “employment,” and “customs.” These choices make the subject clear, and the example about clothing in Pakistan gives the discussion some specificity. There are, however, several spelling errors, including “poeple,” “prefernce,” “industy,” and “emloyment,” as well as inaccurate or awkward word combinations such as “less prices,” “the wages … are considerate,” and “hassale of customs.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations—for example, “at a lower price” and “customs procedures”—so your vocabulary is more accurate and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “rather than” and the conditional structure “if they get it in good quality.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the paragraphing helps the reader follow your argument. Some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it boosts the economy … and provide more opportunities” has a subject–verb agreement problem; “contributes to increase” needs a gerund form (“contributes to increasing”); and “encourage people for buying” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. The phrase “the same clothes will cost more” would also be clearer with a more precise comparison. Review agreement, verb patterns after prepositions, and article use, then proofread each sentence for accuracy.
