Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, the drastic change can be noticed in buyers behavior as number of people start buying things which are produced in their local area instead of imported goods. The reasons behind this phenomenon are that inflation and quality which i explain in the upcoming paragraphs.

First and the formost, i would like to tell that the price of each and every product is increasing day by day. To explain it, Government implement tax on those products which came from foreign countries. Sometimes, people are not able to buy them due to high cost. That's why, they rely on local goods more. Another reason is that the quality. Here i want to give the example of China made toys. Most of the China made toys make with cheap material which are not good for childern health because they always try to bite them. Hence, some infant face health issues after the use of these stuff.

According to my perspective, this is a positive trend. There are number of reasons. Firstly, those prople who have a skill about something, they can get jobs. For instance, people start their business such as local food court, cultural stuff on a small scale which allow everyone to purchase without give burden on their budget. Secondly, people can help to grow the GDP. When they start to promote their local stuff, they pay tax to direct their country which directly do affect their economy.

To conclude, It is positive trend. Local production not only help to get fresh and trustworthy stuff from local markets, but also help to grow the overall country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including higher costs on imported products and concerns about quality, and clearly state that you see the trend as positive. The examples of imported toys and small local businesses help make the points relevant. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others. The toy example supports your quality point, but it is a broad claim and would be stronger with a clearer explanation or a more specific example. The benefits to employment and GDP are also asserted rather than developed; explain how local purchasing creates jobs or supports businesses. A more balanced explanation of why consumers prefer local goods would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Another reason,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can distinguish the reasons from your evaluation. This already provides a coherent structure. To make the organisation more flexible and precise, avoid relying so heavily on formulaic signposting and connect related claims more explicitly. For example, the link between local businesses, employment, and economic growth could be developed in a clearer sequence. Some references, such as “these stuff,” are also unclear, which weakens cohesion. Use more precise referencing and transitions that show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported goods,” “high cost,” “local goods,” “GDP,” and “economy.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “cultural stuff” and “health issues.” However, the range is limited in places, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or imprecise, including “buyers behavior,” “China made toys,” and “pay tax to direct their country.” Spelling errors such as “formost,” “childern,” and “prople” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases for local products, employment, and economic contribution, and check spelling carefully. These improvements would make your meaning clearer and your vocabulary more appropriate to the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast structure in the conclusion. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors occur across sentence patterns and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “the drastic change can be noticed” and “people start buying” do not express the intended tense and construction accurately; “Government implement tax” also has subject–verb agreement and article problems. In “which allow everyone to purchase,” the verb does not agree with its subject, while “without give burden” has an incorrect verb pattern. Practise accurate present-tense forms, articles, agreement, and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence. More reliable control of these structures will support your attempts at complexity.
