Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is true that nowadays locally procuded items are bought increasingly by many individuals rather than buying imported things. From my point of view it is a positive approach owing to promote business locally and providing employment to the local people.

One of the reasons is that more number of people opt to buy goods locally manufactured because they can easily trust on the quality, quantity of the product. To explain it, local area vendors provide best quality items to their customers so that they can buy more from them and it will contribute to increase the business chain more on big scale. For example, most of the local people from rural areas prefer to buy things such as milk, fruits, and vegetables that are locally produced rather than buying packaged or imported things because of quality issues. Secondly, locally produced goods are cheaper as compared to the imported items. Because it does not include extra shipping, transportation cost which is required for imported items.Consequently, buying things from local factories help the vendors to save their money.

As this trend is positive from my perspective because it provides employment to the local people who can easily find job in their local areas and by working there they can earn money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that buying locally produced goods is positive, and you identify relevant reasons: confidence in product quality and lower costs, as well as local employment. The examples of milk, fruit and vegetables help illustrate the quality point. However, the response is short of the required minimum of 250 words, and this limits how fully you can explain and support the ideas. The second reason is only briefly developed, and the final paragraph repeats the employment benefit without explaining its wider effects. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and make sure both the reasons and your evaluation of the trend are fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, and a concluding statement of your view. Sequencing phrases such as “One of the reasons,” “Secondly,” and “For example” help readers follow the main points. However, the overall progression is limited: the final paragraph introduces employment as a positive effect but does not connect it clearly to the earlier discussion, and it largely repeats the introduction. Some links are mechanical, while the sentence beginning “Because it does not include…” is separated from the preceding idea in a way that interrupts the flow. Use clearer paragraph development, connect each reason to its consequence, and finish with a conclusion that summarises rather than repeats.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “locally manufactured,” “imported items,” “quality issues,” and “employment.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “transportation cost” and “business chain.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the response less clear—for example, “trust on the quality, quantity,” “provide best quality items,” and “contribute to increase the business chain.” There is also a spelling error in “procuded.” Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check spelling. For instance, you could describe consumers as “confident in the quality,” and say local purchases “support business growth” rather than “increase the business chain.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a purpose clause with “so that.” The main message is generally understandable, but errors recur in sentence construction and grammatical patterns. For example, “it is a positive approach owing to promote” needs a grammatical form such as “because it promotes,” while “buying things from local factories help” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence “Because it does not include extra shipping…” is a fragment, and “items.Consequently” needs punctuation and spacing. Work on complete sentence formation, agreement, and accurate clause linking; then proofread punctuation and articles. These changes would make your ideas easier to follow.
