Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modren era, where incresing in the importing good due to globalisation. Many poeple still prefer to purchase goods from the local suppliers because it helps to boost local economy and allows people to stay connected to their culture. Although imported good provide a waide rage of choices and available all over the year regardless of the season,I believe supporting local retailers is a positive trend.

One of the major reason behind this trend is that imported products are comparitely expensive. Due to increase in international tredings there is increase in the number of imported goods and services, which not only reduce the sales of the local products but also a prominent casue for the reduction in the cultural identity. This is because many people adapting westernisation as an effects of globalisation. For example, young people are more inclined towards fast fashion cloths that are imported from other countries around the world because it provides greater choices but that reduces the significance of the traditional costumes. As a result, many people are more strict to their own products that help them to stay connected to their roots and help to improve their economy.

This is clearly a positive trend because it helps in boosting economy. By supporting local farmers, retailers and artists, people help them to increase their procucts' sales and in maintaing their bussinesses. For instance, if people buy the locally produce items and food, that will help local farmars and retailars to increase local income, which boost the particular country's ecomomical rate. Furthermore, buying locally made products not only help local bussinesses to earn more money but it also improve social cohesion by supporting each others.

In conclusion, although imported products provide people with a wide rage of products, I believe that staying connected to local tradition and supporting local products has a positive impact in increasing sense of belonging and boosting nation's economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear view that buying local goods is positive. The reasons you give include supporting the economy and preserving cultural identity, and the examples about fast fashion and local farmers help make these points relevant. This meets the task well, with some elements showing the fuller development expected at the next level. However, the explanation of why consumers choose local goods is less precise: the claim that imported products are “comparitely expensive” is not clearly connected to the later discussion of culture, and the point about social cohesion is introduced without much explanation. Develop each reason through a clearer cause-and-effect link and a specific example to make the response more consistently convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and the positive effects, and a conclusion that restates your position. Ideas generally progress logically, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “Furthermore” help guide the reader. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the move from the cost of imports to cultural identity is abrupt, while “This is clearly a positive trend” repeats the position rather than smoothly linking the preceding example to the next point. Some references, such as “that” in “that reduces the significance,” could also be clearer. Use more explicit links between each claim and its explanation, and vary transitions so the progression feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “globalisation,” “cultural identity,” “traditional costumes,” “local retailers,” and “social cohesion.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both economic and cultural effects. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “modren,” “waide rage,” “international tredings,” and “economical rate.” Some phrases also do not express the intended meaning precisely, such as “more strict to their own products” and “increase local income.” These issues do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they limit precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “support local businesses” and “boost the local economy.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “although,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “One of the major reason” needs a plural noun, and “buying locally made products not only help” needs a verb that agrees with its subject. The opening fragment, “In the modren era, where increasing in the importing good due to globalisation,” is not a complete sentence, and the final sentence of the first body paragraph contains several clauses that are difficult to follow. Review subject–verb agreement and ensure each sentence has a complete main clause; then punctuate longer sentences to make the relationships between ideas clear.
