Student answer (Band 5.5)
Importing of goods are becoming common in every nation 'Whether' some argue that counsumers prefer to buy things from local produced things from markets rather than imported goods. Due to local ingredients people easily get trust on the things or the products that have been produced within the country and this a positive trend and reasons for this will be discussed in upcoming parargarphs.
Firstly, People living in rural areas are always keen or stick to the product and the services that they are using from their intial times and they always trust on the things that have been used by them .To explain it , due to modernisation every product or the services are developing their overall conditions while adding some new methods that peoople do not know about their labels or ingrdeints, they do not have any knowlede about their benefits or the demerits and they prefer to buy things from local markets .For example, In 2019 an Indian farmer import the seeds of wheat from overseas without checking its descripitons because he not been through before and gerination of seeds failed .As a result, he is not interseted to get things import.
Secondly, freshness and quality are the foremost reason of buying local products.people often buy stuff from the nearby markets because not only people know the origin of the products but also it requiress less transportation that reduce the travelling cost and overall pollution. For instance , day by day pollution is rising on its peak if everyonge going to shift on imported goods needs more transport rather than local goods .
To conclude it , consumers prefer locally produced goods because they are often fresher and help support local business which gives postive trends for economy as well as for environmrnt

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods, including trust, freshness, and reduced transport, and you clearly describe the trend as positive. The examples about the farmer’s failed wheat seeds and the environmental effects help make the discussion relevant. However, the reasons are not equally developed. The point about familiarity and trust is explained at some length, while the economic benefit to local businesses appears only in the conclusion and is not supported in the main discussion. The farmer example is also quite specific but its connection to consumers’ broader choices could be made clearer. Develop each main reason with a fuller explanation of its effects to make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a clear route through the main points. Some linking is effective, such as “As a result” before the outcome of the seed example. However, connections can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “this” in the opening does not clearly identify the trend or the argument, while “it” in “To conclude it” is an awkward reference. The first body paragraph also moves from rural consumers to modern product labels and then to an import example without fully explaining the links. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to its main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “local markets,” “freshness,” “quality,” “transportation,” and “pollution.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and phrases such as “support local business” are appropriate. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “things” and “products,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural combinations such as “get trust on” and “positive trends for economy.” Spelling errors, including “counsumers,” “ingrdeints,” and “environmrnt,” are noticeable and sometimes make reading less smooth. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; for instance, distinguish “locally produced goods” from “local ingredients” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the “not only … but also” construction and clauses introduced by “because” and “while.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, there are several errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Importing of goods are” should use a singular verb, and “this a positive trend” is missing a verb. In the example, “he not been through before” and “germination of seeds failed” need more accurate verb forms and sentence structure. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, especially after full stops. Review basic agreement and clause formation, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
