Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people are prefer to buy goods that are generated in their local area instead of buying food which is imported because they want to take diet which is healthy in nature and having low cost. I believe that, this is not a good development because, it impacts negatively on import business and economy of the state.

One of the main significant reason for this is that, most of the population think that local food is fresh and beneficial for their health rather than frozen item imported from another area. Moreover, some human usually prefer to eat food which is undried and foster their health in a positive way. Another significant reason is that, it becomes cost effective for consumers. In this increasing rate of inflation, citizens commonly prefer to buy low priced food. For example, people in many countries are not buying imported food because of high prices.

From my perspective, it is a negative development because it reduces the international trading between countries. When people not buying international food than it effect the communication between countries. In addition to this, when no one buy food produced from another area than it reduces the economy of that state. For instance, in Asia, many areas are underdeveloped because they do not allow companies to sale imported products.

In conclusion, consumers are prefer to spend money to buy edible things that are local because they believe that local items are inexpensive and nutritious. However, it is a bad development because of detrimental effects on international relationship and economy as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for choosing local goods—perceived freshness and lower cost—and state clearly that you see this as a negative trend. The response stays relevant, and the examples about high prices and trade help illustrate your points. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, the claim that buying local reduces communication between countries is asserted without showing how trade affects communication, and the example about underdeveloped areas is broad and not clearly linked to the argument. Develop each reason with a more specific explanation or a concrete example, and clarify why the economic effects outweigh the benefits to local consumers. This would make the position more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph presenting your view, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition to this,” and “For instance” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The move from local food being “undried” to its health benefits is difficult to follow, and the link between buying imported food and communication between countries needs clearer explanation. There is also repetition of “another area” and “international food,” while the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Use more precise referencing and make each paragraph progress from a main point to an explanation and relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “imported,” “inflation,” “cost effective,” “international trading,” and “detrimental effects.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader pause. For example, “generated” is not the natural verb for goods, “take diet” is unclear, and “undried” does not express the intended idea of fresh food. Phrases such as “economy of the state” and “international relationship” are also imprecise in context. Build a bank of natural collocations for food, trade, and consumer choices, and check that each word expresses the intended meaning before using less familiar vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Many people are prefer” should use either “prefer” or “are choosing”; “when people not buying” needs a correctly formed clause; and “it reduces the economy” does not express the intended relationship clearly. There are also problems with articles and punctuation, as in “I believe that, this is not a good development.” Practise accurate present-tense forms and subordinate clauses, then proofread for subject–verb agreement and unnecessary commas. More reliable control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
