Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You address both questions: you give a reason for choosing local goods (“cheap and affordable”) and state that the trend is positive because it helps local workers. However, these points are only briefly asserted, with no developed explanation or relevant example, so the response does not yet provide a sufficiently complete answer. The reason about imported goods and taxes is also unclear and needs explaining more precisely. Most importantly, the response contains 78 words, which is 172 words below the required minimum of 250. This leaves too little space to develop your position and support it. To improve, explain how buying locally benefits workers or the local economy, add a specific example, and address the reasons in fuller detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall order: the first paragraph gives a reason for buying local goods, and the second states that this is a positive trend. This makes the main direction understandable. However, the ideas within each paragraph are not developed into a clear progression, and the link between affordability and helping workers is not explained. The opening phrase “Especially people who have not enough budget” is a fragment rather than a complete supporting sentence. The short response also offers few linking or referencing devices, so relationships between claims remain implicit. Organise the answer into an introduction, developed body paragraphs and a conclusion, using clear links such as “One reason is…” and “Furthermore…” to show how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant words and phrases, including “affordable,” “imported products,” “local goods” and “local workers,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the vocabulary range is limited and some choices or combinations are inaccurate, such as “costumers choosing buying goods in local,” “high expensive,” and “they hard worked.” These errors make parts of the message less natural and occasionally unclear. Try to learn useful topic collocations as complete phrases, for example “buy locally produced goods,” “support local businesses,” and “imported products may cost more because of taxes.” Vary repeated uses of “local” with precise alternatives such as “domestically produced” where appropriate, while ensuring the meaning remains clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You communicate your main ideas using simple sentence forms, and the reader can understand the general position. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and the response shows a narrow range of structures. Examples include “people who have not enough budget,” where the word order is incorrect, and “they paid taxes,” where the verb form does not fit the general explanation. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “a imported products” and “Especially people who have not enough budget…”. The opening sentence combines several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subject–verb patterns, articles and verb forms; then add a few controlled complex sentences using “because” or “which” to explain your points.
