Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you give possible reasons for choosing local goods, including lower prices, patriotism, return policies and concerns about online scams, and you state that the trend is positive because it supports local businesses and the national economy. However, the response only partially develops these points. The reasons are listed more than explained, and the claim that imported goods are chosen for their “longlasting effects” is not connected clearly to the other points. Your final comment that people abroad should prefer imported goods also sits uneasily with your position. The response is 24 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop two or three reasons with specific examples and make your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation: the response moves from general comments about consumer choices to reasons, product-quality concerns and then your view that the trend is positive. The final paragraph also gives relevant consequences, such as creating livelihoods and promoting businesses. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. For example, the opening claim that quality is high in both categories is followed by a statement about price, then by a fragment-like list of factors. Several points about quality and inspection repeat without being linked into a clear argument. Paragraphing is limited, and connections between sentences are often abrupt. Use a clear paragraph for each main reason, then a separate paragraph for your evaluation, with linking phrases that show how each example supports your point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “return policy,” “durability,” “refund policy,” “promoting their business” and “establishing the economy.” These choices help communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “local product,” “consumer” and “positive trend.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “purachase,” “afordable,” “wether,” “befor” and “avaliable,” which reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “make awarness” and “security easily avaliable on product.” Build a more varied set of accurate terms for local production, affordability and consumer confidence, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing communicates its general meaning through mostly simple sentence patterns, and you attempt some longer structures, such as “Positive trend developing in the local people purchasing the local good is making ways for people to make living.” However, this sentence is difficult to follow because its structure and verb forms are not controlled. Errors occur frequently in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement and prepositions: “consumer usually prefer” needs plural agreement, while “Purchasing a good completely depends upon the consumer choice, manufacturing of product” is not a complete, clearly structured sentence. Missing spaces after full stops and commas also affect punctuation. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use a few accurate complex sentences to explain cause and effect.
