Student answer (Band 5.5)

The products which are made in the domentic areas, have boosting the sale by people. insted of purchasing foreign products. The two major reason of this trend is less cost and other one is less waiting time. In my opinion, this is a positive development which i will discuss in further paraphraphs.

First of all, purchasing a product from local area is directly decrease the extra costs such as shipping charges. For example, I bought a dress from a show room which newly opened in my area, i visited in person and was beneficial to me because i checked the quality of cloth and i tried at the same time that dress was fit to me which reduced my stress that i do not have to fixed it after purchase. and i pay for that $200 which was showing online $500 with charges and taxes from other area.

Secondly, buying things from local shops reduce the waste of waiting time. imported goods usually takes 10-15 business days. For example, i had a funciton in my college that had a theme so i needed a theme dress, i chacked online which was showing delivery in 10 days and i had only two days so i purched from my local area which i easily purchased without waiting time. That is why it is more positive and convinience for people to get from near.

In conclusion, no doubt best quality of product can be purchased from foreign , in my view buying from local area usually reduce the extra charges and no waiting time and people can buy with very easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give two reasons—lower costs and shorter waiting times—and clearly state that you see the trend as positive. The examples about buying a dress locally and finding a themed outfit quickly make the reasons relevant and concrete. However, the discussion of why consumers choose local goods is narrower than it could be, and the positive effects are mostly framed as personal convenience. The conclusion briefly acknowledges that foreign goods may offer better quality, but this point is not explained or weighed against your position. To strengthen the response, develop the wider benefits or drawbacks, such as support for local businesses, employment, or product choice, and explain how these affect your overall judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help the reader follow the progression, and each example is placed with the relevant point. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, and long sentences—especially the dress example—combine several ideas without clear boundaries. Some references, such as “That is why it is more positive,” are broad rather than precisely tied to the preceding explanation. Use clearer sentence breaks and more varied links that show cause, contrast, or consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “shipping charges,” “imported goods,” “quality,” and “delivery.” The examples also show an attempt to use specific language rather than relying entirely on general statements. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts less fluent, such as “domentic,” “funciton,” “convinience,” and “waste of waiting time.” Phrases such as “made in the domestic areas” and “purchasing a product from local area” are also unnatural. Build a bank of accurate expressions for local production and consumer benefits, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your meaning is conveyed more smoothly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations and examples, so there is some structural variety. The main ideas are generally understandable, but control is inconsistent: errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “purchasing a product from local area is directly decrease” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “imported goods usually takes” has a subject–verb agreement error. The dress example also runs several clauses together, making the relationships between actions harder to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement and articles. More reliable control of these patterns would make your explanations easier to read.
