Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, a huge number of people decide to support our nation. Moreover, they stop buying imported stuff and support local markets and use local produced goods. I think that is the best step to save and support our country. In this essay we will discuss briefly there benefits and why it is positive trend with relevant examples in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are numerous benefits of buying local produced goods. The very first benefit is that when we purchase things that grown in local area then we support our country. To explain it, during the purchase everything we pay taxes and that supports to nation as well as Government spend this money on maintenance of nation. To exemplify, if we spent more money on local produced goods then whole taxes will go to our Government and they can make our country better. As a result, this is main advantage to buy goods that are grown in local area and it is a positive trend.
Furthermore, another benefit is support local vendors, farmers and many industries. When we gave preference to purchase locally produced goods then directly we support and motivated local market and agriculture also. In addition, we can get best goods and save money because imported good are always expensive everyone cannot afford. For instance, if we buy vegetables direct from farmers and milk from dairy farms then we can get purity at less price as well as we supports them. Therefore, this also positive trend and we support local market.
To conclude, I think purchase goods that are locally produced is beneficial for country, local market and individuals also. The reason is that we can support among of them and keep well-being ourselves. Hence, I think it is very positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear view that buying locally produced goods is positive and offer relevant reasons, including supporting the national economy, local vendors and farmers, and potentially paying less. Examples such as buying vegetables directly from farmers help make the discussion concrete. However, the task asks why consumers are increasingly making this choice, and your response focuses more on the benefits of doing so than on the reasons behind the growing trend. The point about imported goods being expensive is relevant, but it could be developed further, alongside other motivations such as freshness, trust in local producers, or environmental concerns. Some claims, particularly about taxes and product quality, are asserted rather than fully explained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from national benefits to support for local businesses, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “For instance,” and “To conclude” help signal these stages. However, the organisation is somewhat mechanical, with repeated statements that the trend is positive and repeated references to supporting the country or local markets. Some connections are unclear: “we can support among of them” does not clearly identify who is being supported, and the opening promises to discuss “there benefits” without clearly mapping out the reasons for the trend. Grouping each distinct reason and explaining it in sequence would make the progression clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “imported,” “local vendors,” “farmers,” “agriculture,” and “maintenance.” These terms allow you to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “local produced goods,” “support and motivated local market,” and “keep well-being ourselves.” There is also repetition of “support,” “local,” and “positive trend,” so the wording lacks flexibility. Aim to learn natural collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, use “locally produced goods,” “strengthen local businesses,” and “contribute to our well-being.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using clauses with “when,” “if,” and “because,” as in “when we purchase things…” and “because imported good are always expensive.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “a huge number of people decide” shifts awkwardly from the time frame introduced by “In recent years”; “things that grown” is missing a verb form; and “Government spend” has a subject–verb agreement error. Other examples include “we gave preference” and “we supports them.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use simpler, accurate structures before adding subordinate clauses.
