Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is only 113 words long and ends abruptly mid-sentence. While you have attempted to address the three bullet points—mentioning your experience, suggesting benefits, and expressing a desire to stay—the ideas are significantly underdeveloped due to the incomplete nature of the letter. To reach a higher band, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully expanded and that the letter is brought to a logical conclusion with a formal sign-off.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore' to organize ideas. However, the abrupt ending severely disrupts the coherence of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall structure is incomplete. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that the letter flows logically from the introduction to a complete closing statement.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. Phrases like 'really good experience' and 'boost up my confidence' are somewhat informal or repetitive. There are also minor errors, such as 'all the field' (should be 'all fields') and the typo 'cpmany'. To improve, aim for more precise professional terminology and ensure accurate spelling throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. For example, 'Working from past two years' should be 'Having worked for the past two years', and 'the different department' should be 'a different department'. Additionally, 'whenever' is written as two words. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage.
