Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: it mentions what was learned in the current role, suggests how the company would benefit from the transfer, and explains why the writer wishes to stay. The tone is appropriate for a formal business request. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive, and the explanation regarding the 'taxation system' and 'members' is a bit vague and could be more clearly articulated to demonstrate professional value. Overall, the task requirements are fully addressed with a clear purpose throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. The progression of ideas is generally smooth. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive (e.g., 'I also', 'Therefore'). While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transition between the skills mentioned and the specific benefit to the company could be more fluid. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed due to minor grammatical issues that affect the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their intentions clearly. There are attempts to use professional terminology such as 'administration department', 'accounting field', and 'taxation system'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'advance knowledge' (should be 'advanced'), 'I already spend' (should be 'have spent'), and 'on tax season' (should be 'during'). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over professional collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses ('I already spend', 'both departments needs') and articles ('the finance department'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. The writer demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but accuracy remains inconsistent.
