Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development of ideas is quite limited. You mention your desire to improve skills and move departments, but you do not clearly explain what you have learned in your current role, nor do you provide a specific suggestion for how the company would benefit from your move. The tone is also somewhat informal for a letter to a manager (e.g., 'Dear boss'). To improve, ensure you provide concrete examples of your current contributions and link your transfer to specific company goals rather than just your personal desire for promotion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter lacks paragraphing, which makes the text appear as a single block. While there is a basic logical flow, the lack of clear transitions between ideas makes the progression feel mechanical. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' to connect thoughts. To reach a higher band, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point and incorporate a wider range of cohesive devices, such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in addition to this,' to link your sentences more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, with frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I spend time more then two years' and 'all facilities are giving.' The phrasing 'I promote different department' is also inaccurate. To improve, focus on learning standard business collocations and ensure you use the correct parts of speech. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise professional terminology will help you convey your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense ('I spend time'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as 'Hope your are well' and 'That why I wish I will not go this company.' The range of structures is limited to simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and using appropriate punctuation to separate distinct ideas.
