Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state what you have learned, explain the benefits of your transfer to the company, and express your loyalty to the organization. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how the company benefits from your move to an LCV operator role could be more detailed to show a stronger professional impact. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'first of all,' 'secondly,' and 'moreover' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor errors in punctuation and sentence structure. The transition between the second and third paragraphs is a bit abrupt. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that cohesive devices are used to connect sentences more fluidly rather than just acting as list markers.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using industry-specific terms like 'long haul,' 'long combination vehicle,' and 'onboarding.' However, there are several spelling errors ('thoroughout,' 'poper,' 'bol's,' 'pod's,' 'meting,' 'belive') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'what we stays on road.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary to reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Issues include inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'i,' 'kim'), subject-verb agreement errors ('inspections teaches me'), and missing articles or prepositions. While the meaning remains clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation limit the score. To improve, focus on sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you use articles correctly. Proofreading for capitalization and basic punctuation would also significantly improve the quality of your writing.
