Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state what you have learned, explain the benefits of your transfer to the company, and express your commitment to remaining with the organization. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the company would benefit is quite general. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples of how your skills would translate to the operations department. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though it could be more professional in certain sections.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'However', and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and minor errors in sentence structure, which makes the progression feel slightly mechanical. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to better connect your desire to stay with your request for a transfer.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, including terms like 'valuable experiences', 'crucial role', and 'utilize'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'quick adopt the new changings' (should be 'quickly adapt to new changes') and 'betterment to new department'. Additionally, there is a spelling error ('essensial'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your intent, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I am writing to you a concern' (missing preposition), 'I am working n this organization over past two years' (missing article and incorrect preposition), and 'allow to my transfer' (incorrect verb structure). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and the accurate formation of complex sentences.
