Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: what you have learned, the benefits to the company, and why you wish to stay. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of why you want to move departments is phrased in a very basic way ('just want to move other department that i can learned new things'). Furthermore, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. To improve, you should expand on your specific skills and provide a more professional justification for the transfer to demonstrate a clearer understanding of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is organized into a basic structure, but the flow between ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and paragraphs effectively. For example, the transition between your current skills and your request to move is abrupt. The paragraphing is also insufficient, as the entire body of the letter is contained in one long, dense paragraph. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in addition' to connect your thoughts and ensure the letter follows a logical progression from your current situation to your future goals.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic words like 'things,' 'work,' and 'good' (misspelled as 'goof'). There are several spelling errors, such as 'knowladge' and 'comfartable,' which hinder the professional tone required for a formal letter. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas about career development. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise professional terminology, such as 'professional development,' 'transferable skills,' or 'contribute to the team,' and ensure that your spelling is accurate throughout the document.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tenses ('i have learned... since two years'), sentence structure, and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper capitalization, such as 'i am glad to work with you since two years, i have learned so many things.' The use of complex sentence structures is attempted but often results in errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct punctuation to separate independent clauses.
