Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to formally request to change of my department from Data Analysis to Artificial Intelligence. No doubt, I have learned many skills from current job like problem solving, Reporting, last but not least statistics etcetera, which helps me in further future.
However, I chose to get certification of AI because of its increasing demand in the business world and also it replaces some of the IT sectors. Moreover, it helps our firm in developing the new web design and Logos on basis of contemporary demands. Which will be help our company to grow further in corporate world and rise opportunities for the employees to bring the new advancement in Designing sector.
Apart from this, I would rather change my position within company rather than to leave it due to some factors. One of the important factors is flexibility in schedule, which rare in many companies as this allows person to choose their wish hours for work and on other side is Hybrid Workplace approach this company gave me free opportunity to do work from home sometimes. Which ease my life.
Thank you for consideration and looks forward for positive response.
Yours Faithfully,
Rose

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state what you have learned, explain the benefits of your transfer to the company, and provide reasons for staying. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how AI benefits the company is a bit vague and could be more specific to your current firm's operations. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended and clearly linked to the specific context of your career development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'Apart from this' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'on other side is Hybrid Workplace approach'. Additionally, the use of 'Which' at the start of sentences is grammatically incorrect and creates a fragmented feel. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary demands', 'corporate world', and 'advancement'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'change of my department' instead of 'change my department' and 'wish hours' instead of 'preferred hours'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'rise opportunities'. While your meaning is always clear, the vocabulary is somewhat basic in places. Expanding your use of collocations and more precise professional terminology would improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of your writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Which will be help our company'), missing articles ('in corporate world'), and incorrect sentence fragments ('Which ease my life'). Additionally, there are punctuation and preposition errors throughout the text. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of your writing. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will be beneficial.
