Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Manager,

Learning is significantly important in everyone life. I would like to inform you that I have learned so many things in my current department. Although, I want to move to a different department in our company.

I am very passionate about learning a good things which would be essential for my future. In my two years journey I learned a lot in this company. For instance, how to deal with posture corrections with colleagues. Furthermore, how to write full assessment form without equipments.

The major part of ths company is arranging sports protocols. Likewise, I can do this very easily. Because I have done my masters in this subject. As you know that I was qualified with particular topics. So, it would be beneficial for our company to move in this department.

Additionally, I does not want to leave this company. This company feels familiar now. To be very honest I do not have any plan to change another city for now.

I am very excited for my next chapter in life. I firmly believe that you will understand my situations. I am waiting for your response.

Yours Sincerely,

Sheela.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You mention your learning experiences, suggest how the company would benefit from your transfer, and explain your desire to stay. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how the company would benefit from your move to the sports department is a bit vague, relying on general statements about your master's degree rather than specific professional contributions. To improve, try to provide more concrete examples of how your skills would add value to the new department. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager, though it could be slightly more professional in its phrasing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Likewise', and 'Additionally' to link your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or are used in contexts where they do not fit perfectly. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between your current learning and the request to move could be more fluid. Overall, the structure is sufficient for the task, but more variety and natural use of linking words would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'career development', 'passionate', and 'beneficial'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation, such as 'posture corrections with colleagues' and 'write full assessment form without equipments'. The word 'equipments' is a common error as it is an uncountable noun. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise professional terminology and ensuring that collocations sound natural. While your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your intent, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Learning is significantly important in everyone life' (should be 'everyone's life'), 'I does not want to leave' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'change another city' (preposition error). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with sentence boundaries and phrasing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve your accuracy.
