on the one hand, the cause I want to shift from supply chain department to sales department, my interest and skills for this department. I am working in this company from last couple of years as head of supply chain department. I learned a lot in this field about how to take discussion and how to take and give orders. I got experienced, how to do task in given time and behave friendly with juniors to maintain confidence.
Moreover, from last couple of weeks I believe my interest is more in sales field besides my current department, because I have my educational skills for this job. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: learning in the current role, benefits to the company, and reasons for staying. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of how the company would benefit is limited to a generic claim about increasing sales by 10%. The tone is occasionally inconsistent for a formal business letter, such as the opening 'Dear sir or madam' (which should be more specific if possible) and the slightly informal phrasing regarding 'taking discussion'. To reach a higher band, you should expand on how your specific skills from the supply chain department would translate into value for the sales team.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your intent. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally misused. For example, 'on the one hand' is used without a corresponding 'on the other hand', which creates confusion. The transition 'Moreover' is used correctly to add information, but the overall flow between sentences is sometimes choppy. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would significantly improve the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'learned a lot' and 'do task'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'take discussion' (likely meaning 'make decisions') and 'behave friendly' (which should be 'act in a friendly manner'). While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more professional terminology related to career development and corporate environments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include article usage ('the sales department'), preposition errors ('working in this company from last couple of years'), and tense inconsistencies. For example, 'I am working... from last couple of years' should be 'I have been working... for the last couple of years'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing.
